i would rate sachin's 97 vs pak in 2003 is his best ODI innings ( maybe desert storms comes closer  ) ..

but the way these sachin chamchas discredit other batsmen is totally appalling

To me his best knock was that 65 against Srilanka in 1996.

We as a nation only came to know how difficult it was to bat the minute he got out.

What do you mean by your Rahul he is not my son. He has been rightly kicked out after non performance. Looks like you take it personal if someone say something to kohli . As i mentioned before by kohli is on the verge of becoming GOAT in odi and ATG in test by the time he retired he can be greatest ever in terms of stats from India. But the sheer hope/expectation and joy which sachin created among fans with mediocre indian team during 90s  no one else can create.when we used to be whipping boys of most of the countries (even sl and zim used to kicked us occasionaly) By the time kohli came in to picture we were already well established team. BTW i was responding to a post who is talking as if Sachin is chadrakant pandit while compared to kohli.

I don't have problem  to put  Sachin over to kohli but how on earth  Rahul  is as talented, as Sachin ' potentially '.Sachin  scored hundreds  in eng and aus at the age of 18 while Rahul  was shitting everywhere. What potential  has he shown to compare  him to Sachin. That shows the hypocrisy  of some Rahul's fan .they  can easily  discard  virat's achievement  but shamelessy  compare 'potential goat ' Rahul  to great  man

Completely agreed. No matter what kind of bowler or pitch condition is maintaining an average more than 100 in entire year is something unheard of.

Since 2015!!!

As you can see from above ABDV and Kohli, both have averaged over 100 for one whole year. ABDV has had 5 very good year. Kohli has 4 so far. Rohit has 4 too.

I believe Kohli sill match ABDV or may exceed and have six damn good years. Buts thats about it. Rohit may only have 5 years because of his fitness. But you never know. Rohit may be more match fit then others

Wow i din't know this. ABDV is also top 3-4 batters in odi. That's why i said if kohli continue like this and will win a wc on the back of his batting performance he will be retired as GOAT in odi. But ya i agree that recent era is the most easiest era in terms of scoring run as limited over pitches have gone flat everywhere and batsmen skilled have also increased considerably due to advent of t20, 2 balls field restriction and all that.

Out of everyone in the list, you conveniently pick one guy .

Steve Waugh saved his country from certain defeat in not once but twice against SA in 1999 by scoring a 100(a must win to ensure Aus go to semi while chasing) and a 50 while batting 1st in arguably the greatest ODI game ever played in a semi.

And that Saffers bowling attack was world class for its time.

Get a grip, dude.

Scoring one hundred in a must win match or  world cup finals does not make any player a great player. He has 3 odi hundreds and you are saying he is on par with Kohli. Ponting who has scored one of the most dominating odi 100s in world cup finals is no where near Kohli he himself ackowledged it.

I do not bring down Kohli when I compare him to ABDV. neither do I try to rely on selective stats. ABDV is a beast of cricket. To me, he is ahead of Ponting. If he was a Indian, He would have gave a direct competition to Sachin and that too among Sachin fans.

Pressure, opposition, pitches, situation, era and fellow team mates. All that is completely different stuff. Quality wise, batting wise, I see ABDV and Kohli exactly same bat

this is like asking as to whether Sachin was almost double the one day batsman that  Desmond Haynes was based on pure numbers.

Haynes  scored only 8500+ runs when compared to Sachin's 18000+, scored only 17 100s compared to Sachin's 49, avg:ed 41.37 compared to Sachin's almost 45 and had only str: of  63 compared to Sachin's 87.Going by pure numbers no doubt that Sachin can be considered as atleast 175% a one day batsman to Haynes. But for me for one ,can't consider Sachin more than 2 levels atmost  a better batsman to Haynes, that's all. This because there is a matter called context. The contexts in which  these 2 batsmen scored their runs were so different. Then it all comes to general  over all perception based on these contexts.
