Sachin scored  17 100s in 67 tests, where as Kohli scored 22 100s in 67s tests. While Kohli started slow in tests , once he found his bearing , he has become a totally different player.Especially as a captain Kohli has become a beast.

Check Kohli average in any country against that particular home team not inflating averages against minnows in that particular country.He is one the best already even if he does not play another game.

SRT had 31 100s, 8800+ runs at avg of 57 at age of 30. How close is Kohli?

I repeat , the basis of Sachin being regarded as  one among the top 3 or 4 GOAT batsmen  is not because there have been  no  other batsmen who   excelled in several batting factors than Sachin, but it is just that when all the factors are taken into account and batsmen weighed  w.r.t each of these factors , Sachin score more points than most of them combined .Hence to pick a particular batting factor and then argue that a player X is better to Sachin  in that particular factor and hence conclude that 'X is  better than Sachin over all '  does not make any sense what so ever.

 

To be more precise, Virat  is slightly better in chasing & finishing  huge scores(implies easy batting conditions) in one dayers. May be he is better to Sachin in another  of such several factors too.Agreed. But just because of  that, to neglect  lots and lots of other factors where Sachin can easily be evaluated to be better to Virat  and conclude Virat to be better to Sachin  is just plain foolishness to say the least.

 

Just like comparing 15921 runs to mere 5700 runs ....what sort of absolute bull ****. Let alone Sachin, Virat has not yet surpassed a lot others too. 5700 runs basically is not at all adequate  to even start a comparison, because in the course of career any thing can happen.For instance who would  have thought  him avg:ing a paltry 9.2 in 5 home inns  in the last home series against AUS???? That too in the midst of a purple patch!!!!!!!!!!

So let Virat score at least any where nearer to these ATG batsmen firstly.

Kohli is good under pressure in T20Is, tests, bilateral ODIs and non-finals in ODI tournaments.

 

Shows that he is mentally tough.

 

Even that 30 odd in the 2011 final was in a pressure situation and stemmed the rot.

 

A big innings is yet to come in an important ODI final.  As they say ... rub of the green is yet to come in such matches. But not a mental toughness issue.

The high average is important here.  The other parameters are not as SRT played 100+ tests at age 29 and Kohli  67.

 

Similarly, SRT  having lesser centuries after 67 tests is not fair comparison as he was made to start at an young immature age.

Team in 90s able to reach SFs in WC while team in 00s got knocked out of first round. For past 6 years we are basically riding on Virat's D. 

 

That can be CT2013 final, 2012 WC, 2014 WC ( guy took us to finals all alone), 2016 WC that epic knock against Aus and he even did well in SF. Wherever he failed we were out of the tournament like 2015 and 2017. If you want to talk about Tests atleast sachin had great players like Azhar, Dravid,Laxman, Ganguly, Zaheer and co. While Virat has Dhawan, HTB pujara, sauna model Rahul and yo yo pandya with brainless Umesh yadav. This team is 10 x worse you gowl.

Why this comparison? He never said he is better than Sachin. There should be comparisons between GOAT Rahul vs Sachin.here many Rahul’s fan  claimed that he is best batsman after Sachin .
