Are India thinking of playing both R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the Ageas Bowl?

Some might even suggest that thoughts of playing a second spinner might have crept into India's minds after Joe Root revealed that Moeen Ali would play the fourth Test and share spin duties with Adil Rashid.

Moeen, however, is taking the place of a specialist batsman, Ollie Pope, and England view his offspin as a bonus, given the many and varied bowling options they already possess.

I hope we don't play just 2  specialist pacers again.   :wall:      England want us to fall into this trap by playing Moeen.

Weather has been pretty cold, pitch will never dry so one spinner will be more than enough.

Prithvi Shaw has got his maiden Test call and it seems fans want him to replace out-of-form KL Rahul.

Rahul has played three Tests and scored merely 94 runs and that seems to be playing against him. Shaw, on the other hand, has impressed for India A in England and it seems fans feel it is the right time to get him to open.

wonder if the fans would do the slip catching then..

Kohli says no change in batsman category but if, track found spin Conductive, jadeja will be includes in the 11 member team, risky, because all 5 days remains cloudy which help pacers.

Stokes injured so he will not bowls.England included

Both Rashid and Moeen in 11 member team

All 3 Nair, Shaw and Vihari will be in the oval test or two from above list if, India loose series at rose bowl.(4)

Kohli most un-likely to drops Rahul after he took 7 catches in previous test.(Cook 60 in 5 innings, so far)

If you hits 30/40 for BCCI you are good for next 5 tests.Rahul most likely to open with dhawan on Oct 04-08,'18 First test in India vs westindies

If Virat hits 24th test 100 he will break record of

Sehwag

Peterson

Langer

S.Smith

Miandad

All above hits 23 test career century.

Anderson need 7 more wickets to break,McGrath's 561 test wickets.I do not think any fast bowler ever break record of Anderson and McGrath in next 100 years or more from present test playing countries

Ishan 249 w

Broad 427 w

Steyn 421w

Southee 220w

Boult 215 w

Trivia:

- Virat Kohli needs to score six more runs to become the second fastest Indian batsman to score 6,000 Test runs.

- James Anderson needs to take seven more wickets to become the leading wicket-taker among pacers in Tests.

- Ishant Sharma needs to pick one wicket to become the second slowest player to complete 250 Test wickets.

I think it's a stronger batting unit but weakened the bowling with Woakes being injured.

Woakes is a much better bowler than Curran and him out is a big blow to England. The latter only swings it one way (inswing) and apart from the 4 wickets in the first innings of the first game has done nothing special. He bowls slower and if played responsibly will pose little threat to the Indian batsman. In the first game most of his wickets were gifted by India. Curran albeit is a very positive batsman.

Moeen has actually been much better with the ball than bat this county season. Apart from the double century he's been scratchy this season with the bat and continues the same so-so form to the limited over Indian series. Considering Pope has had little to offer (I think he's a tad unlucky and looked good the few balls he was there) Moeen is a nice trade.

India should have a more potent bowling attack in 3 pacers and all rounders in Ashwin and Pandya. Having four quick bowlers will be vital as I expect long spells to be bowled. Spin will have little role till day 4 or 5.

How many county games has he played?
