Pandya has an upside and that is his physical fitness. he needs to focus on bowling to justify his spot. Otherwise jadeja is avery very safe bet and has lot of experience. His fielding is pretty good too. Pandya has not convinced me that he can bowl.

Tbh, Pandya has his strengths. He can indeed bowl well for someone who's not a mainstream bowler. At times he can bat too. But tests definitely is a far stretched idea. He is going to end up eating a spot of either a bowler or a batsman. He is a novelty in ODI's.

If somehow he can fine tune his batting, and is able to replace a genuine batsman, then I think a case could be made for his Test inclusion.

Problem with all the assumptions is that he has to learn something to get included. i value your opinion on merits of a pace bowler and no one knows it better than you that pace bowling is a full time job. You just need to focus on that only.

Well I am with you in terms of your stance on all rounders. Pandya is in no way good enough to be a test inclusion. Presently, neither his batting nor bowling merits a spot in the team.

Woakes is a handy batsman, not an "all-rounder". He is picked for his bowling skill and chips in with some runs. Among all the all rounders I know of, only Ian Botham would have qualified purely as a batsman or as a bowler, and that too only if you cut off right at the peak of his career because he declined badly and scored only 1 test century in the last 6-7 years of his career. The concept of picking a player as an all-rounder is flawed. There are batsmen who are handy bowlers and vice-versa, that's it.

These guys will do anything to prove their point. None of these players can consitently excel in both fields. Today Woakes is an all rounder, tommorow I don't know who will make the cut.

@Ankit_sharma03 Which allrounder would have fixed this Pakistani problem of not being able to bat? Bats need to come thru for Pakistan and that is not happening. Allrounder has nothing to do with. Specialist need to deliver.

if any bat that looked comfortable in 1st game was shadab other then masood surely even he wud have not been able to solve problem but he was unfairley removed as he performed n other main guys didnt. Since when is one player suppose to save a team

Never.

Point is that Pakistan has deep problems and those are not related to cricket.
