cric_fan
Out of the recent Bond movies, Casino Royale is the best. The rest are OKAY.
Turning_track
As Craig's Bond movies being good have followed the same pattern as MI winning the IPL, I hope it truly delivers to the expectations. Trailer looks impressive.

Not as good as JW1, but definitely better than JW2. Left a lot to be completed by JW4. Good franchise though, a lot of potential like Dead Pool. It beats Jason Bourne in raw action. Dirty Harry is nowhere close to these movies, in action. MI is the best in stunts. Edited December 5, 2019 by coffee_rules

Besides the opening sequence, I liked the plots in Austria (Dr. Swann's introduction) and Morocco (had some beautifully shot sequences that looked good on screen) as well (the twin locations were earlier used in TLD) As for the linking of plots, that happens in original Bond novels too for e.g. OHMSS, YOLT, and TMWTGG. TB, OHMSS, and YOLT are considered as SPECTRE trilogy. Bond battled SMERSH, the Russian Secret Service, operatives in many of his books. And in earlier films too for e.g. Dr No is a SPECTRE operative in the first film, who is to be avenged in FRWL (In the book, the events in DRNO follow after FRWL, where SMERSH is used instead of SPECTRE ) .... Sean Connery's YOLT and DAF are linked, relatively speaking, as well as after Blofeld escapes at the end of YOLT, Bond pursues him at the beginning of DAF Nothing to be compared to the linking of plot lines in QOS, Casino Royale etc. The earlier ones you indicate have common villians/bad guys who are not shown (petting cat etc.) and then revealed, here there are Bond heroines' plots linked across movies. It is damn irritating, having to read Wikipedia after watching the movie to see their linkages.

If I wanted to watch multi-episode story, there's TV for that. A movie should not be *ing episodic.

I think the old school Bond girls were way, waaay better than the last 20 odd years... I like all Bond actors. In terms of style, there are 3 distinct ones - Connery, Moore, and Dalton. Lazenby just did one film but since I like OHMSS, he has grown on me. Brosnan tried to combine elements of Connery and Moore, while Craig is a continuation of Dalton, who was ahead of his time. If I have to pick two, it would be the two legendary Bonds - Connery and Moore. As for Bond girl characters, in the order of release: Pussy Galore (GF) Fiona, the henchwoman (TB) Tracy (OHMSS) Solitaire (LALD) Agent XXX (TSWLM) Octopussy Elektra (TWINE)
