No. Indian batting is that good is the reason.

no the pitches are fine, infact it was helping seamers yesterday when rohit sharma looked clueless against moving ball

These pitches offer turn as they use in 2000s in 90s.....pitches have been doctered before as well for kumble n bhajji to

No evidence has been found of favorable pitches ...only one guy feels insecure as his record is under threat

2015 SA were rank turner n everyone struggled including our batsman

You do know people's state of mind. Right?

Jadeja is averaging 44 with the bat in the last 3 years. I think he can bat at No.6 in India atleast.

I actually hope they don't turn him into an all-rounder . The guy should be a bowler first and his bowling has looked a bit off colour since this season began. Even if they were to play him, he should bat no higher than 7. Rahane should've been dropped, Vihari at 5, Pant at 6 and Jadeja at 7 if the extra bowler was really necessary . It may not cost us a lot in this test but these Saffers aren't exactly the team with the ability to exploit any chinks anyway. Abroad though, we need a strong batting lineup with pant at 7, 3 fast bowlers and the lone spinner with vihari bowling 10-12 overs a day. Can't compromise on batting strength again for the extra bowling option. Australia tour proved that.

Unless the top order keep delivering in SENA  , they have to play six batsmen plus Pant. They have lost too many matches by playing an allrounder .

Saha is keeping rather well.

I think even Saha has realized that he will not be able to compete with Pant when it comes to batting. Better to excel as a keeper and come up with steady 20s and 30s contributions.

"I Sharma to Bavuma, no run, is that caught down the legside? That looked like a one-day wide, and Bavuma wanted to glance that fine. Gets a thin edge on it, and Saha pulls off an absolutely spectacular take, diving full stretch to his left to pluck the ball. The umpires are going upstairs to check. And replays show that it does have an edge, but it hit the ground right after, so it's a bump ball. But what a take from Saha! He flew through the air to his left to gather. Bavuma would have been filthy with himself if he had gotten out to that ball."

Yup, this is what we have come to almost expect from Saha. Good to see him back, and good to finally see a keeper good at his primary job. Can't think of many others in world cricket who can say the same, only BJ Watling (NZ) comes to mind. I think nobody doubts that Saha (Watling) is behind Pant (Ronchi/Seifert) in batting, but in test matches at least, you want a specialist (at least if you have ambitions of being a bona fide top tier team). If you do not have batsmen who allow you the luxury of playing a proper keeper, why bother playing tests in the first place?

Final edit: I have nothing against Pant the batsman, and think it might well be worth trying to get him in the side for his batting alone.

If India has to win overseas pujara n rahane have to become consistent. They both are experienced n and can score overseas.....kohli will score most series may not be the best batsman everytime but will contribute if these 2 start to become consistent....it ll make a huge diff

We won in Aus when pujara came to the party

Absolutely. Unless we can magically find an all-rounder who can make it purely on batting strength as well, it's a waste of a spot.
