putrevus
There was another short skiddy guy Bilwal Bhatti, what happened to that guy.I thought he was very decent bowler. These bowlers who have been selected are better than him? Link to comment

Bhatti got his chances, won one match in South Africa but did not have much success after that. Similarly Musa being a shortie, even pacier might not be successful due to his lack of a height. Naseem Shah is OK, not tall but not a shortie either. Link to comment

Marshall was not tall, but he had everything else. Being short is not a handicap as long as you have everything else of which Pace is a must. Link to comment

The pertinent question is ... does Musa have the extra pace needed for his short height ? ( Along with accuracy and other skills of course. ) If he can bowl 137 k to 147 k or higher consistently along with zip off the deck ... he will do ok provided he has the other skills. His short height won't be a problem then. Mosher 1 Link to comment

Marshall was short compared to other Giants WI had those days otherwise he was of similar height as many others including Waqar and Akhtar. Waqar probably an inch taller. Link to comment

Misbah in his press conference echoed similar sentiments. The thing that these morons don't realize is that you have to out bat the Aussies to ahve a chance at drawing the matches on those roads they call pitches down under. Having a good attack boosts your chances of winning as opposed to drawing. Without folks who can make daddy hundreds, there is only one result that awaits teams touring Australia. Pakistan at the moment does not have batsmen with the temperament to play long innings. Maybe Azhar Ali (who has done it in Aus previously, but he seems to have lost it these days). Link to comment

express bowling
Height is over-rated for a fast bowler if he has both pace and bounce. The 5'8" or 5'9" Md. Shami generated more bounce and much more pace than the 6'5" Ngidi in the just concluded test series... that too on Asian pitches. Even the tall express pacer Nortje extracted less life out of the Indian.pitches than the short fast bowler Shami. In fact, shorter height and skiddiness can be a big plus on slow Indian pitches provided the pacer is 140+. Edited October 24, 2019 by express bowling Mosher 1 Link to comment

Taller pacers can be effective in the mid-130s, due to trajectory and bounce. And sheer physics dictates it will be harder for shorter pacers to keep bowling in 140s as opposed to their longer limbed counterparts... Link to comment

This part is true ... but is offset by the fact that shorter pacers are lighter on an average and this puts less stress on their knees and feet. Mosher and Stan AF 1 1 Link to comment
