Nonsense , you don't need three captains, you need one captain, one voice if Kohli is not good enough find another one. There is a reason why Dhoni resigned as captain in odis.

2 years after running away midway from the Test tour of Australia. That too after he realised continuing as a LOI captain would see his career getting over in a few months.

Do you think he would have been dropped from team if he was still the captain in 2019?

As if, this needs to be told. Virat Kohli is singlehandedly ruining the future of many a cricketers. Indian cricket is nobodys baap ka raaj, but thats exactly what Kohli is trying to do!

Former India international Farokh Engineer has slammed the current BCCI selection committee questioning their credentials and stature and instead advocating for the likes of Dilip Vengsarkar to be part of the panel.

The current selection panel is headed by former India wicketkeeper-batsman MSK Prasad and also includes Devang Gandhi, Sarandeep Singh, Jatin Paranjpe and Gagan Khoda.

Engineer, who played 46 Tests and five ODIs between 1961 and 1975, feels the presence of a strong-headed Virat Kohli has ensured selection isn't a worry. "We have got a Mickey Mouse selection committee," Engineer told The Times of India. "Virat Kohli has a major impact (in the process) which is very good. But how are the selectors qualified? Between them, have they played about 10-12 Test matches. I didn't even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him 'who the hell he was', because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was one of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma (Kohli's wife) cups of tea. I feel people with the stature of Dilip Vengsarkar should be in the selection committee."

He cited the example of how Rishabh Pant has been handled, saying the youngster should have originally made the cut for the ICC World Cup 2019 instead of Dinesh Karthik. "They shouldn't have dropped him (from ODIs). They should have picked him ahead of Dinesh Karthik for him to get as much experience with MS Dhoni," Engineer, 81, said.

He was also critical of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) to run BCCI's day-to-day affairs whose reign ended earlier this month. "They (CoA) had no idea about cricket. (Diana) Edulji has played a little cricket but you need somebody who has knowledge of Test cricket, international cricket, international matches. The intention was good from the Supreme Court and the Lodha Committee, but the implementation wasn't done properly. It was a very very wrong choice of people (appointed in the COA).

The CoA was headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai.

Let's take what Engineer said with a big grain of salt. Old retired cricketers from subcontinent have habit of going off the rails while trying to make a point. Criticism of current selectors might be justified, but we must add 2 caveats - 1.) We all know under CoA, Kohli was calling the shots and so selectors might have been arm-twisted to go along with him...when even a hardened pro like Shastri has accepted kohli's lapdog status, so much for Engineer's theory that merely more experienced selectors would have done the trick! Also, note his chicanery at on one hand praising Kohli for inputs in selection, but laying blame for Pant mismanagement on poor selectors doors 2.) i don't agree that one has to have played 50 tests or something to be top selector - Sanjay Jagdale was a FC cricketer but one of our better selectors, guys like Woolmer, Duncan Fletcher also had minimal or nil international experience but good eye for talent. Would a Gavaskar make the best selector, or would he be biased towards Mumbai players?

I also wouldn't rush to judge Anushka - i dont believe she would ask a selector to serve her tea, or that a selector would agree to serve it to her or anyone. I Think her Insta message is spot on. I disagree with her typical bollywoodiya stands and pak love, but you gotta respect her for making a mark as an outsider in a notoriously cliquish industry. Kohli is a jerk in many ways, but you can't hate on Anushka for his actions. Kohli's brain farts are his own doing.

What's with the obsession for a single captain, when increasingly we are seeing emergence of format-specific players and with such heavy loads for key all format players? Ideally, after Kohli's hussy fit over Kumble in 2017, selectors should have made Rahane test Captain and Rohit LOI one. Root-Morgan, Smith/Paine-Finch, Waugh-Ponting, all these split captaincy models have worked well.

There is no obession, You need to have one captain and one voice I firmly believe that, all players you have mentioned were not playing all formats and were/are close to their end of their careers when the spilit captaincy happened.Kohli is the best player is all formats.

Kumble the coach is not important than Kohli/captain .If Kohli or any other captain has problem with Kumble the coach he needed to go. Greg Chappell who was asking Ganguly to be removed from the team as he thought he was not good enough to be a player, Kohli still is the best player.

I don't see any reason why he needs to be replaced?

So the Virushka and Dhoni media mafia (Farokh has been a Dhoni critic for sometime) forced Farokh to backdown. Irrespective of the clarification, a selector serving tea to Anushka will be part of Indian cricket's legend.

And to those saying dragging Anushka was needless, well Anushka has dragged herself into official matters of Indian cricket and should be prepared for public backlash. If she doesn't want that, better for her to stay away from official functions of Indian national team when other WAGs are not allowed/invited.

Now chill everyone even Farukh engineer would have served anushka tea. He himself has made it clear. Looks like he has trolled all Kohli haters here.

BTW  he has also said that Ravi shastri is a extremely good coach

What's wrong in hating Kohli....just like there is nothing wrong when some icfers love him like their bf/gf.

Spot on she has no business of posing with Indian team team and she has no shame that she is trying to defend it as if someone forced her to pose the picture with gun to her head.
