Majestic
If Iyer is gonna perform at home and fail overseas, then what is the difference between the other talented players whom we overhyped as next big thing and Iyer? Literally all our batsman average 25-35 overseas, what makes them any better than Shreyas Iyer? Lord 1 Link to comment

Thakur can be the bowling all rounder for sena Washy is going to explode Dube has potential in tests. He can be very useful. Shankar was another one we missed out on for tests. Wrong format picks as usual by India. Panchal is solid Eeshwaran looks good for the future. I am not sure about iyer. Iyer may do well in asia. Unless he magically fixes his issue vs short ball, he will struggle vs sena. Lol at Dube Link to comment

He has a wide range of sweep shots against spinners. Also wide range of reverse sweeps. Edited November 25, 2021 by vvvslaxman Link to comment

First class
Made his test debut almost at ideal time , with good FC and WBC experience behind him, and still a young man . Only time will tell how far he goes, has potential to strengthen India's aging middle order for next 7-8 years. Link to comment

Besides we need to see him play bounce in australia and s.africa. How will he do vs nortje bowling 150 bouncers? I am not sold on this guy yet. At home? Yea sure. Even here he hasn't faced someone who can bowl 145-150. Edited November 27, 2021 by Jay Link to comment
Vijy
Iyer will not play well in Eng, SA and NZ IMO. He can do well enough in SC and in WI, Oz (provided that pitches are not too spicy). Link to comment
