Pakistani government data shows that while the country has ramped up testing, it is still not conducting enough tests. It has conducted 23,011 tests per day as on 17 July, compared to 11,361 tests on 11 May, but this is still less than half the WHO target. India, meanwhile, conducted 3,61,024 tests on 17 July alone.

Per million They are doing 21% less tests than india. So even if we increase their figures by 25% still cases are 2000. And  with whatever their testing They had peak in June. You have to accept that Pakistan's peak is over for time being .May be Another surge will make new heights their. On the other hand india's peak is yet to come

Tamil Nadu govt corrects data, adds 444 deaths to Covid Chennai toll ..

Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan on Wednesday said that the deaths of 444 persons that were missed in the state’s tally will be added to the list of persons who died due to COVID-19. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, he said that these deaths occurred between March 1 and June 10 and were not accounted for earlier. The numbers were arrived at, by a Death Reconciliation Committee set up by the state government, which submitted its report.

Not surprising at this funny business. This is right up their alley. :lol:If this is for just one district you can imagine the hanky panky done in the other districts. This should be done in the other districts as well.

It is interesting to look at the international figures in terms of CFR, the US and Germany really left all the other Occidental countries behind in terms of that metric.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/coronavirus/

cfr.png

US is at a 3.51 CFR and Germany is at a 4.47. France, and UK are both over 15, Italy over 14, Netherlands over 11, Spain at about 9, Canada at almost 8, and Sweden slightly over 7.

Several factors could/do go into the numbers(I wonder how much of it has to do with the greater spread in the US[maybe more young people got infected]), but it does provide bullets to those who have doubts about the supposedly superior European model of healthcare.

What I think is true, however, is that if there was some sort of coordinated national response and/or prepping , the total deaths in the US would have been very small, considering their low CFR.

Looking at some of their states

It seems most of their worst affected states, barring Michigan, in terms of CFR, are in the NE: NY, NJ, Mass, Penn, Conn. Those states have CFRs around Canada's but lower than Europe's.

We have some interesting numbers in India as well, in regards to recovery rate in our hospitals for Covid-19 patients.

A table on recovery rates as of June this year

Ea1-F0l-VAAAKms-Q.png

The link below gives more recent data going up to mid-July

https://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/050720/covid-19-recovery-rate-in-indian-states-union-territories.html

Quote

"There are 21 states and UTs with a recovery rate more than the national average," it stated.

These 21 states and UTs are Chandigarh (85.9 per cent), Ladakh (82.2 per cent), Uttarakhand (80.9 per cent), Chhattisgarh (80.6 per cent), Rajasthan (80.1 per cent), Mizoram (79.3 per cent), Tripura (77.7 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (76.9 per cent), Jharkhand (74.3 per cent), Bihar (74.2 per cent), Haryana (74.1 per cent), Gujarat (71.9 per cent), Punjab (70.5 per cent), Delhi (70.2 per cent), Meghalaya (69.4 per cent), Odisha (69.0 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (68.4 per cent), Himachal Pradesh (67.3 per cent), West Bengal (66.7 per cent), Assam (62.4 per cent), and Jammu and Kashmir (62.4 per cent).

Since June to now in July it seems 2 states/territories have fallen below the national average(Telangana and Tamil Nadu) and one has risen above from below(Ladakh).

However the overall recovery rate in India is 63% currently, up from low 50s in June, so those two aforementioned states didn't necessarily drop down in recovery, but likely are just improving less quickly.

National lockdown after certain time is not possible. States are still imposing lockdown but they are not working.

So then you need to stop talking about numbers now. It's futile to keep Posting numbers once things are unlocked.

Lockdown won't work now because spread is already there and not enough infected people are tested and isolated.

Are you seriously blaming this on central government?

This goes on everyone bro. Central and state. You do have to say that BJP rules on most states as well. My state was doing good until they completely botched up with koyambedu market. Less than 200-300 per day cases is now 7000 cases per day. And the worst thing most cases previously it was confined to only Sennai and now it is everywhere.

And I'm pretty sure most of the posters would be blaming congress if they were in power. It goes both ways bro.
