In the GCL if you win with black your team scores 4 points. Whereas a win with White gets you 3 points.

 Alireza, with black pieces,  flagged Magnus, who was completely winning and got 4 points.

Magnus and Firouzja have been playing some phenomenal rapid Chess games recently. They just had a final in the Champions Chess tour tournaments and those games were tense as anything. Firouzja never gives up

Disgrace. Everybody is now bashing the time control, there is a reason increments were put in place. Now pieces are flying, players moving pieces after banging the clock.

Agree, minus increments it's just chaos. It's understandable online but OTB its ridiculous. Caught the highlights of the Vidit game, it was basically a sort of pre-moving anarchy where the players just held the pieces in their hand while opponent was making a move.

Dravid interview rather "conversation" is refreshing. Regardless of my opinion about him as coach as an individual he is top class. It was almost like that converstaion could have gone on for few more hours.

Yes, better that way. Was never the fittest and at 38, moves like a mid 40s dude. 

 

I think he will try his hand at coaching, umpiring (like Venkatraghavan), refereeing (Srinath), commentary, or administration role. He clearly is passionate about the sport, not in it just for money/fame.

think more to do with CSK not inetersted in extending the contract and other teams may not be offering a good contract or may not be that interested in him as he has retired from intnl not as big name as dhoni/kolhi and he is an off-spinner not many teams would like to a have a specialist off spinner.

 

could get better contract sitting as expert/ commentator or coaching staff

would say its better he or any expert should represent their own view rather than being the voice of any1( fans included) - These days its more pr than fans.

there are already multiple ppl and ex-cricketer who are doing that, taking the route of popular opinion driven mostly by pr. many such ex-players are trying to impress/use popular players' clout rather than talking real senses.
