What is the best version of Dal you've had?

Hey I'm totally dhalled out man. Unless if its a sambhar with some veggies, just plain dhal is :sick:. Moong dhal on the other hand though can be used to make pongal which is tasty with whole black pepper, green chillies, curry leaves and jeerakam with an added ghee :eating:

 

Edit: plain dhal was made worse by the fact that my roommates and I cooked dhal pretty much all the time in the US because its easier to make. Whenever I cooked dhal, all 3 of us went to fast food outlets to grab some sandwiches :laugh:
