picking only 5 bowling options is a recipe for disaster. you don't even need an injury, any bowler can have an off day. Look at the English LOI team. every new batsmen is either a bowling allrounder or a keeping allrounder. Hopefully Hardik becomes fit enough to bowl by the time australian series starts

Falling, tumbling and fumbling even the great Vijay Shankar has managed to finish a game for his team and also bowled well.

Still waiting for SDP :hmm:

Shankar isn't a T20 player, red ball cricket is his strong suit. I hope he plays tests in England next year, in Rahane's place, even his bowling will be useful there. When will our selectors learn to differentiate between formats?

Good to see such phenomenal expectations from Ind greatest current T20 batsman - SDP :hatsoff:

Won MI the tournament last yr with 400+ runs at a SR of 190+ (yes, that is tournament SR). This yr, even  w/o breaking a sweat SDP avg 27-28 so far at a SR of 160+ (Stonis has similar numbers too, Hetmyer is less, and so on)

Shankar is not an international standar player.I don't want to see him in anywhere near any Indian team. He on his best day is not better than Rahane on his worst day.Test cap is not cheap to give out willy nilly to any tom dick and harry.

actually he isnt even bad in ODI but only if u slot him at 4-5 (which is taken now) rather giving him the job of pandya which they actually did last time and he ll be good in NZ to, CDGH with similar kind of bowling has been very handy for NZ in test cricket

BS, Shankar played at 101SR and held one end. Finishing was done by the other batsman , Manish Pandey, at 176 SR, without which VS would have done squat. Discuss such innings over BnP players like SDP or VS. Pandya is the last to be expected to play a solid innings like VS today, he would have gone with 150 SR and finished a nice cute cameo like 23(9) or something like that. He can’t be expected to play a mature innings.
