@Gollum he hasn't played enough to pass judgement on him this season nor there has been any news of any injury. He should have played every game for KKR this season & last match by playing an overseas spinner ahead of him, KKR literally humiliated him.

For his own sake, he needs a different team next season.

How is that humiliation?

They gave him chances he didn't perform well so they have to look at other spinning options. How is this any different from dropping an out of form player?.

Really? He has played 3 matches out of which he didn't even bowl in most part against Rajasthan. You need more matches to judge a player.

It is humiliating because he is an Indian international spinner & being replaced by a overseas uncapped spinner. More ordinary players like Gopal, Karn etc playing regularly because teams have to play 7 Indian players & Kuldeep surely one of better 7 players in that KKR squad.

Best part about IPL, doesnt work on reputation, they are ruthless when it comes to replacing underperformers.

How exactly do you expect him to play when he's not performing?. As it is there are 3 other Indian fast bowlers(Mavi, Kamlesh also prasidh) also whom the fans expect to play every game. KKR also has to fill out 4 foreign players in this mix. There's literally no room. Varun Chakravarthy has replaced him in the 11 as an indian spinner and he's doing well.

Whose fault is that when you're being overlooked??. People tend to forget this is a business and at the end of the day and every franchise out there wants to win and not to carry baggages.

They have to bro.

It is a business at the end of the day worth 100s of millions of dollars. It's not cheap. Nothing comes for free.

How do you know he is not performing? In 3 matches where he bowled 9 overs ? KKR have been foolish enough to bowl two fast bowling rookies ahead of Kuldeep anyway.

This is not business, this is a cricketing setup, successful teams like CSK, MI etc who have stuck to cricket have won trophies. Similarly with KKR under Gauti.

Have you watched kkr matches recently..team would be requiring a wicket and batting team required RR would be around 12..he would get pasted for a 15-20 run over.

In the 3 matches he played he has taken 1 wicket for 74 runs and economy 8+. Nagarkotti, Mavi and Varun had better figures than him. That's why he has was dropped.

Forget CSK, MI is the most ruthless franchise out there. Big names like Tendulkar, ponting had to step down. Even mvps like malinga and pollard have been dropped for games. Gautam gambhir dropped himself when he wasn't performing for KKR and got transferred to dilli. This is how IPL works.

Anyone who thinks IPL isn't a business is in denial. Nothing more to add.

Thankfully KKR management do not share your thoughts. Made two good changes today, Kuldeep & Ferguson playing.

Lol @ comparing captains dropping themselves midway to the dropping of Kuldeep. Doesn't make any sense tbh.

If he performs and team wins i'm good with it. If he doesn't he will be discarded. My point is still valid as he didn't perform well and that's why he was dropped. The comparison is with respect to non-performance. Go back and read properly. Don't waste my time.

Not watching KKR closely but why isn't Kuldeep playing? Is he injured or some fitness/attitude problem @SK_IH @Ankit_sharma03?

Has had a rough time in international cricket for the last 18 months or so. This year against Oz he was outclassed by all other spinners, struggled in NZ.....not the Kuly we know.

Anyway IPL is different, how can he not make the XI of a mid-tier franchise being an Indian spinner? Everybody goes through rough phases, more so youngsters when their novelty wears off. He can still turn around his fortunes, class won't go away just like that, and he has X factor. Is KKR TM dumb or what? Very worrying signs for Team India, he isn't the mentally strongest out there and these snubs won't do his confidence any good.

I am totally confused, why has he become persona non grata?

For the sake of Indian cricket hope he comes back strongly, why the * doesn't our system have mental conditioning coaches?

He is having confidence issues , was hearing few ex player specially manoj tiwary who has shared dressing room with him told on cricbuzz show that he is someone who can loose his confidence very quickly even if he is not able to bowl 3 balls at right spot he will loose his confidence . May be there is mote to him then his captain n coaches. I also dont remeber someone on his knees almost crying after getting slaughtered. He himself told that rohit n dhoni were in constant touch with him post moeen ali episode. KKR coaching staff has changed they have bmac who is good with players, even abhishek nayar is very good with youngsters but if its still not workingits from his end. Saw him bowling in intial game he looked so ordinary, just bowled flat ..this is where chahal has gone ahead he doesnt loose his confidence post whacking and still tosses it up. Kuldeep on other hand has been bowling flat and defensive lengths. Same has happened to shreyas gopal who also has bowled absolute flat this season, his confidence also took a hit after a domestic game where dube slaughtered him. May be kuldeep might be helped in some other franchise like RR where warne is there to help but then a coach can only help until a point as he has been trying with gooal but gopal himseld hasnt been able to come out of it even though he doesnt looked that hassled as kuldeep.

If kuldeep needs anything its few good performance even if it means fluke wkts. In franchise cricket thats difficult coz they look to win. At the end its his own battle.

@Gollum

While kuldeep was bowling

DK- Acha ball aa raha hai haath se , acha se arm aa raha hai)

(never seen a keeper say that, they generally say good ball and all but telling ball is coming good out of hands and his action is coming good is never seen before)

Means he needs constant boasting which is not good, everyone needs but this much is a lot

Even rohan gavaskar has pointed out that its known in domestic that he needs constant boasting
