vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I have watched a bit of Ottu(malaylaam movie). Not finished yet. Kunchako boban needs money to settle down in foreign. So he takes up a job of retrieving the memory of a famous rowdy (played by Arvind swamy). From what i saw Arvind swamy has handled this role very well. Especially the scene where he inadvertently regaining his fighting qualities in a restaurant. Arvindswamy is pretty good there.. Need to complete. I heard climax is awesome.

vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I am not really a fan of sivakarthikeyan acting. He has a lot of limitations.Okay for comedies. This is a serious role. He didn't screw up the role in Amaran. That is the complement i can give him. But Sai Pallavi next level though. She is multi-talented. Subject itself was handled well by the director. Kamal for a change produced a meaningful movie.
vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Lubber pandhu i recent saw. Was breezy movie based on cricketing rivalry between would be son in law and father in law.
vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 There is one thing i detest about Tamil movies these days is Anirudh music. Tamil film industry is known for music. Ilayaraja, ARR, Harris, Yuvan... even before Ilayaraja MSV. GV prakash many guys. But Anirudh has brought the down the standard of Tamil music industry. He sings freaking every song in his movie. They all sound the same. Also in fight sequence he has annoying noisy background music in almost every movie. He never captures the imagination.
BacktoCricaddict Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 I started watching "Maharaja" (Tamizh) on Netflix. The intro sounded interesting. 25 min later, I was done. Too many unrelated and confusing characters to start the movie, unnecessary fights, incredulous nonsense so typical of Tamizh movies. Don't waste your time. Then found Ulajh. They called it a spy thriller. There were spies. No thrills. The plot was too damned convoluted. RAW vs ISI vs British high commission vs Black Cats vs Jahnavi Kapoor vs her driver vs a dude on a bike who can't act .... but I sat through it. 5/10.

Gollum Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Meiyazahagan is a prime candidate for Indian movie of the year. Stan AF 1

The whole usual police station crap like beating up the moped thief and shoving a stick up his butt (pathetic attempt at comedy), and then the white-shirted behemoth just beating the crap out of the mechanic for some sunglasses and then incredulously getting his butt whooped by another frail mechanic etc - I have no patience for that kind of stuff. And not to mention the unnecessary snake entries (happened in Meiyazhagan too - what is this obsession with snakes anyway?)? But, I trust you guys and will give it a go during the holidays :-) Edited December 16, 2024 by BacktoCricaddict

Actually those scenes were just build ups for the climax. Climax is the best part in that movie. Especially the last scene. Ulajh lol Sridevi at 13 year old acted 10000 times better than this emotionless Jhanvi. Cannot believe anyone would cast her. If she goes through proper casting process she would be rejected first round. Watch this scene. Expression of Sridevi at the age of 13

Admittedly, I prefer the Smita Patil / Shabana Azmi / Tabu kind of subdued emoting, but Sridevi was uniquely expressive.

But sridevi was probably one of the most versatile to grace our screen. Romance, comedy (which is very very tough to pull off by female leads ), Dance just about any role. But i cannot believe Jaanvi could not inherit even a single quality from her.

Road conditions are getting worsened, traffic is getting severe and there is literally zero improvement in expansion of roads. On top of that, he cancelled the metro project connecting the Hitech City to Airport. He is more interested in taking metro through old city, which apprently is stuck in 1960's refusing to move ahead. Hero worshipping is bad, but Revanth ain't doing any bright acts either. KTR was way more visionary than him. I just saw couple of his clips, he is making no sense. How is Allu Arjun responsible for this incident. He is sounding more like an idiot than a CM. If police did not give them persmission , they should not have allowed him into the theatre. Whole congress party stinks . always has and always will. New guy 1
