Watched Pushpa 2 for last 1 hr and still didn’t miss much. WTF of a movie. Climax action scenes is kind of inspired from Kantara .

It was a production disaster.

Music directors was fired mid way. AA was very  unhappy . Sukumar allegedly was so sick that he was in hospital for few days.

But AAs stardom pulled this through. This is a movie for mazdoors. They made it a cult hit.

I will not watch it as I am not the target audience.

It is a cult sh** lol  There is no plot, no story. Too many unnecessary over the top scenes. I realized 30 minutes into the movie. I started working out and watching while doing it. Then i did some chores while TV was running. I only had this reloaded edition which runs for 3 hours 44 minutes. I say  That is 3 hours 14 minutes more than it needs.  Poor character development. It is almost like they kept changing story as they went along. Cringeworthy romance scenes.

I cringed back seeing peelings song. Guess what, it has become a hit.  Reels on it every where.

I watched because of the review and was disappointed. Impressed with photography, locales and first half in metro to an pro-naxal story. Although technically the film is superb, the later half is thoroughly naxal-sympathizing and showing police brutality. People in tribal areas get harassed more by naxals than the police. They rule the areas more brutally. This shows kind of one-sided. will not bother with part 2. Although my fav actor Vijay Sethupathi has more role in part 2.

These politically loaded films bring in national awards and high praise from left leaning jholawallah critics.

Nevertheless, Vetrimaaran has good grasp on craft. Asuran is a great movie. But, i guess, he has taken the positive feedback/praise from "intellectual circles" for granted.

See everyone is going to watch is even if they know it is sh**. Because they bought into hype. Many would watch it anyway.

Vetrimaaran does a lot of research on what he does. Also his movies are based on some novels.

Someone talk about Meiyazhagan

Happy go lucky movie, sweet story.

It may at times feel stretched, but in totality the story will help us remember the non existent childhood that we grew up with.

Those summer holidays, playing around with cousins, fighting for small cheap candies.

Arvind Swamy as always a formidable actor, Kaarthi at times frankly sounded irritating, but I guess that the issue with dubbing.

best Indian movie of 2024 for me. Hands down.

You claim every movie the best movie of the year. Like your enthusiasm. But if I go by your reviews, I will be disappointed. It has happened with a lot of movies (Lucky Bhaskar was ok , not the best movie of last year( . Will take your movie recommendations with a bit of salt.  Reminds me of this guy

The Seed of the Sacred Fig - 10/10

First persian movie that i watched it in theatres.

Malayalam movie kind of thriller set in  politcal/protest background.

Must watch

@Mariyam your irani relatives/friends might have asked you to watch it

ps:-

wifey asked me to give good review in bookmyshow and pvr cinemas

My Iranian relatives are totally westernized.  My brother married a woman of Iranian ethnicity but she is an American through and through. In her speech, mannerisms and even temperament. Her only un-American feature is her intelligence. She is quite sharp and witty. Apart from her questionable choice of a spouse, she has done quite well for herself.

She does not like Iranian cinema. Has never spoken to me about it. She doesn't like Indian cinema much either. That means me and her don't have any common grounds for conversation apart from cribbing about my brother.

Her parents are migrants from Iran and they watch *|Bollywood* movies. Especially the 60s/70s/80s stuff. They love it.

Your brother is street smart.  He has not only cut through the insane Green card queue for Indian passport holders but also married a successful woman.

2 birds, 1 stone.
