The Paris invasion is Top tier Action TV not even GoT can surpass that season The last Kingdom on Netflix is better from start to finish imo story and character development wise. Covers later Vikings + Saxon resistance. There is also Marco Polo on Netflix which covers Mongol rule in China it was perhaps as costly and massive as GoT. Only 2 seasons though. Totally worth it Somehow never liked English history that much. Very boring compared to others. My fav is the Roman Republic era. I like Indian history as well - but well written stuff is mostly around the Mughals. We hardly have anything of that quality about our own empires.

Because it's hugely inspired by english history

English history I agree is boring subject but if you liked Vikings then The last Kingdom is a notch above when it comes to storytelling. Spartacus I have only watched 1 season. HBO's Rome starring Ray Stevenson is also Top Tier TV. It was expensive af & laid the groundwork for shows like GoT later on. We don't have lot of written knowledge about OG Indian Empires mostly foreign sources & folk tales. They don't make anything engaging or concrete. Edited February 14 by Lone Wolf

Game of Thrones (the first 2 books - great!) After that the books get boring too. The series was great because of the visuals.

I gave it a miss. It is in Japanese, and I am not a fan of subtitles. Also it is from the 1500-1600s. I am interested in contemporary Japanese society/ literature. Not all this samurai stuff.

Surely the third one was the best, everything happens in the third one after set up of first two, the red wedding, the purple wedding, tyrions trial and escape, entire oberyn story, tywins death, jon snow becoming commander, jamies redemption arc, lady stone heart and so much more

Bjorn and rest of Ragnar's sons with Aslaug are so boring. I tried the Last Kingdom. But it looked boring right from the start. Just hang through the first few episodes. It gets better.

A lot of them appear important but then just fade away. Also the names are pretty hard to remember as well.

Sati was practiced in miniscule numbers in Rajasthan, found a couple of instances in Bengal. EIC wanted to get British army into India and wanted to showcause how primitive India was , used this practice and set a narrative of being widespread in use. They got Raja Ram Mohan Roy to do their bidding, got this abolished and got their additional troops to India to spread their kingdom. Just a few 100 yeats before this they were burning women and girls thinking they were witches. There are so many versions of what Sati means, one community thought it was to burn. Yes, Sati in whatever version is not Jauhar. Lord and singhvivek141 2

From the maker of 96 (Prem Kumar), but this movie is much better IMO. 2024 was a great year for Tamil cinema. Maharaja, Meiyazhagan, Amaran, Lubber Pandhu, Vaazhai. Vettaiyan was good compared to Rajini's recent filmography, you can even watch Thangalaan for the acting. Agree, Meiyazhagan is pretty good, inspiring movie to figure what to live for, in life. Enjoyed watching a good movie after a long time. Kamalhassan singing couple songs was awesome

Nope Jauhar is practiced during Wartimes. Muslim Hindu Sikh women did mass suicides during partition. During Invasion of Mirpur by Tribals and Pak army same thing was done by Hindu/Sikh Women when thousands commited mass suicides. Gollum 1
