  5. Kohli
  6. Rahane
  7. Vihari
  8. Pant

Assuming they ll play intersquad matches like teams are doing now, so if anyone from LOI sides shines in a red ball practice game kohli can play him as he is fickle minded

No chance

  • Rohit will start in XI and shaw will be on bench
  • Pujara i have a feeling will struggle this time, aussie will come with plan for him
  • Kohli mind works on recent memory, gill IPL hasnt been great till now and test series is after LOI in which gill wont find a spot . If dhawan scores in LOI chances are more that ull see him in test side. Rahul will have a chance if he scores in LOI

What do you think will most likely be India's playing XI in first test if everyone available?  It's a pink ball test.

will they really play dhawan in ODIs and t20s? he was unofficially dropped in nz tour earlier this year and is struggling in ipl so far. With both Rahul and Mayank in good touch, I think they will move on from him

If everyone is fit bhuvi shud play but i dnt think he shud be risked for aus tour. His injury has been recurring again n again. He shud recover completely and then play a season of domestic or county

this wud be kohli XI

I think kohli will play pandya ahead of vihari.

I feel this coz, kohli was so desperate to bring in an allrounder in the test team  against newzealand. He even tried to get vijay shankar in if you remember correctly.

Also vihari isn't a fit for the no. 6 position.

unless he starts bowling its not possible, even if he does wnt be right to overload him with to many overs

shankar hasnt played test, he shud actually in england or NZ

Peopler rootingfor Rahane is strange, Rahane is done even in red ball cricket. Would rather open with Shaw/Mayank, play Rohit in the middle order, make Rahul a Test keeper. My starting 11 would be something like this with back ups following.

1.Shaw

2.Mayank

3.Kohli

4.Gill

5.R Sharma

6.Rahul(wk)

7.H Pandya

8.Bhuvi

9.Ishant

10.Shami

11.Chahal.

12.Saini

13.Porel

14. Kuldeep

15. Rishabh Pant(wk)

:facepalm:keeping isn a joke in test cricket

While I am 101% sure Rohit won't be dropped any time soon, the following is the best Indian XI to win a test series in Australia.

P.Shaw

M.Agarwal

C.Pujara

V.Kohli

A.Rahane

H.Pandya

R.Pant

R.Ashwin

M.Shami

I.Sharma

J.Bumrah

R.Jadeja can be tried in place of Ashwin if he is ineffective in the first 1 or 2 matches. In Sydney, Jadeja/ Ashwin could both play as it is the most spin friendly pitch in Australia.

Personally, I would pick Kuldeep Yadav over both Ashwin/ Jadeja if given an opportunity. Learning curve for both of them are at a plateau with age/ experience while Kuldeep will only learn from here. Moreover, Leg spinners have been the more successful one in OZ in cricketing history as compared to finger spinners or any other offies.

U.Yadav should be the backup pacer as B.Kumar lacks pace to succeed in Australian hard and bouncy surfaces once the new ball loses its swing.

A keeper can cost you a whole test match. Although Pant is no Gilchrist behind the stumps, he did good enough in the last 2018/19 tour.

Also, Pant is the best keeper batsman India has ever produced in tests (way better than Dhoni atleast in away conditions).

Rahane did well every time he played in Australia. If anywhere he should play, it is Australia. Strange for a subcontinent batsman who struggles against spin but loves bounce/ pace.
