Shaw got unlucky getting injured during the warm up in Australia. He started that historic Aussie tour well with a big knock in the warm up game and was likely to open there but had to comeback to India due to injury. Link to comment

Bhuvi is unlikely to be fit before Aus tour as per latest update on him. Saini may get a test debut as well. Why can't KL keep, he was prioritized over Pant as keeper bat? He also has tighter technique than Pant who will struggle if ball doesn't come on bat well enough. Link to comment

Coz in 1st place its a mistake , 2nd KL has back issues so it will catchup soon In test its just not about 50 overs u might have to keep for 150, that is why specialist keepers are must in test , or rahul dravid wud have kept wkts during ganguly era Its australia ball comes well on bat and pant already has a 100 Link to comment

Ankit_sharma03
Rahane is a baffling case he doesnt look out of touch overseas he hasnt developed any apparent weakness neither is he in early phase of his career He has shown consistency before his catching has dropped He is just playing a lot of loose shots Link to comment
SK_IH
You guys are harsh on Rohit. Hopefully, Virat is smart & gives Rohit full test series to perform or parish one last time. Rohit is an ATG Indian player & he deserve a run to show his credentials as a test player. Mayank & Rohit should start, Shaw as a back up option. In the middle order, Gill is an option in place of Rahane. Gill is a fantastic player of spin unlike that phoney Rahane. Regarding spinners, Ashwin would surely start especially considering the form of Kuldeep. However, this might be last chance saloon for Ashwin. This ll be my lineup for the first test down under : Rohit Mayank Pujara Kohli Gill Vihari Pant Ashwin Saini Shami Bumrah However, I know that phoney Rahane will not only make the squad but also the XI Link to comment

But I have a feeling that he will get a big score in the boxing day match, especially if we bat first Link to comment
wolfcricket
What I'd like to see: Mayank (Shaw) Gill (Rohit) Pujara (Vihari) Kohli (Rahul) Rahane (Iyer) good FC record Pant (Saha) Jadeja (Bhuvi) Ashwin (Kuldeep) Shami (Yadav) Bumrah (Saini) Ishant (Porel) Like to see some more development players in and around the team, get Sarfaraz in shape- we could maybe do with someone of his talent still only 22? Gollum
Adelaide D/N first up Assuming Ishant won't make the cut I'll play: Shaw Mayank Che Kohli Gill Vihari Pant Bhuvi/Chahar Saini Shami Bumrah Jaddu comes in place of Bhuvi in MCG and maybe we can play both him and Ash in Sydney. Straight Drive
I guess the playing 11 that would be : Agarwal Shaw Pujara Kohli Rahane Rohit Sharma Pant Jadeja Shami Bumrah Ishant Not going to be many changes from the team that won the tour last year. Link to comment
Gollum
People underrating Jaddu. Sure he is a phoney in T20s (should be chucked out permanently if we are serious about ending our trophy drought) but has made remarkable strides in test cricket, as an overall package he is a sure starter in our XI except on greentops and D/N tests. In those 2 cases I think a Bhuvi or Chahar will add more value. AuxiliA and Vijy 2 Link to comment

express bowling
The main thing is ... the test squad should not be chosen based on IPL form. IPL matches are 20 over matches being played on sluggish surfaces. We are choosing the test squad for 5 day matches on fast bouncy surfaces. Edited October 29, 2020 by express bowling Link to comment

SRT100
Saini and Shami will unleash damage on the Australians underlights at Adelaide Oval if they get their line and accuracy right. The worrying aspect is the damage Australian bowlers will do to India's top order regardless of time of day. Link to comment
