@coffee_rules genuine question. Why are Kannadigas so hung up on the language?

Certainly a recent thing in the news, but generally no visitor has serious issues with language in Karnataka. It is a general feeling that we try to talk in whatever language the other person talks. Generally any South Indian language, Hindi or English works. Highly docile/bovine people, bilkul gai ki tarah! Very unfortunate incident.

This is the Ongole breed of Prakasam district from Andhra Pradesh. It weighs over a 1000 kgs, is heat tolerant and is highly resistant to diseases.

Scummy Kannadiga politicians have seen how successful this strategy has been for the scum Dravidians in TN. Karnataka is going to the dogs and they can't do jack about it. What better way to distract the public than with misdirection like the crappy Dravidians in TN? They don't have improve anyone's life. They can be perpetual victims.

Stoking Kannadiga pride without requiring the politicians to do anything praiseworthy is a master political stroke.

Btw there is a North Karnataka vs South Karnataka movement upcoming as well. All ways to consolidate the voters while splitting the Hindu vote.

Karnataka also has Tulu/Konkani/Kodava speaking population ...

True. There is a Tulu pride thing as well, but that is not as widespread yet. I saw something about people in Udupi protesting against Kannada imposition there. That made me laugh for sure.

This is so funny. People spend a cutting chai and have serious political and cricket related discussions and also cut huge deals on real-estate spending hours.

Owner must be really pissed to put a board like that!!

In saloons this is very common. Especially the message  "No discussion about politics" .
