Don't know much about naarth politics, don't care much either but nitish must have realised if he continued with bjp he would be soon facing oblivion like the countless other regional parties that allied with bjp.

I mean, look at their track record from akali, Telugu desam, that party in kashmir and the recent addition shivsena. All are almost done and dusted.

When Nitish is so insecure, the RJD alliance makes little sense. Bihar BJP happily played second fiddle, and accepted blackmail by Nitish. But why would RJD and Tejashwi in particular do that?

There got to be more than meets the eye. Some PM candidature for Nitish?

The way chirag and ljp was promoted clearly show intent of BJP was to weaken JDU. He has much better chance of winning doing backward politics than being with BJP.

He was given CM post because without it he wouldn't be with BJP for a minute and Bihar BJP is in no position to win election on it's own

The same which was used by BJP when they formed a Government with anti national PDP in J&K.. ..  Green posters of Lotus in the valley will always be comical.

BTW this Mahagathbandan is bad news overall.   India must always be a single dominant ruling party state.

Foreign Powers basically US loves this multi party alliances to do their dirty work.

Telugu desam was the master switcher between parties they were allies sometimes or they fought separately. Chandra babu started in congress challenged NTR(later father in law) switched to  TDP married his daughter and kicked NTR out of the party and played multiple power politics. They lost in AP because they couldn’t promise freebies like Jagan. Currently AP is bankrupt with the freebies they dole out.

BJP vote share and seats on their own is increasing since the 90s in Bihar. They went back to Nitish only because of LS polls, they need max of the 40 seats to their math in 2024. But in Bihar they lost out developing mass leader even with ground level support. So, this is a good opportunity for them to nurture local leadership by staying as a strong opposition. RJD-JDU alliance government  itself is a big campaigner for BJP.. They can now contest in all 243 seats.

Heard on OpIndia spaces that at ground level, JDU workers and BJP workers were working against each other where there was a common candidate. So, BJP can finish Nitish and JDU in the next election

Nitish was blackmailing and being hostile to BJP, and yet central BJP were accepting him well as CM. Nitish left RJD alliance in 2017, because of his insecurity with Tejashwi. It will be more worse now as his JDU numbers are more lower. I think Nitish thinking of PM post, and the compromise candidate in 2024.

Modi factor is strong in Bihar, and that can win LS elections. In 2014,  JDU on their own won 2 seats, yet today, both their voter base and anti-incumbency is negative worsen.
