Now its possible that Imran personally wasn't aware of the need for the helicopter, but this incident is a symbol of Pakistani elites and their priorities.  Immy is so obsessed with his personal "battle" to become 'dear leader' for Pakistan, that everything else is secondary.

The level of injustice, governmental fraud, failure and horrible situation that greenbros are enduring and suffering is shocking really.  They are essentially enslaved to their jernails who keep selling them the hate India chooran and exploiting them.

Greenbros love to larp as "Pathans", but when push comes to shove, places like Khyber, waziristan, Balochistan, etc are treated pretty much like colonies.  No wonder PTM is such a threat to the establishment and they have imprisoned even elected leaders like Ali Wazir.

Students of history will recall how Pakistani bungling and callous indifference in dealing with Cyclone Bhola in 1970 was a major factor in East Pakistanis moving towards secession.  Obviously Bengali Pakistanis were being exploited and mistreated for 20+ years leading up to 1971, but the point is that there is only so many times that a people can be made to suffer and they begin to give up their 'national loyalty'.

Indian hyper-patriots love to beat off to dreams of further collapse of the Pakistani state, but in reality, such a scenario does not hold any positives for Indian security.  A further crumbling of the Pakistani "state" may not be a "win" for India.

The global economy is going to face serious down-turn in the next 5-10 years.  This is going to lead to major upheaval all over the world.  A crumbling Pakistan with some frustrated fundoo deciding to hurl a nuke or 2 at India is not some wild eyed fantasy anymore.

Scary times.

Quote

“Of course they will. They have to!” said the general. “It’s the only way.” Frank was perplexed. Only way for what?

He then waved his hand cautiously at Frank’s notebook. Once Frank put down his pencil, the general leaned over the desk and spoke quietly. “You see, Neil, this cyclone solved about half a million of our problems.”

Frank grasped for words while a squeaky ceiling fan whirred above. He came up empty.

In just a few weeks, the entire country was going to stand for an election, and the general argued that Bengali voters didn’t have the interests of the country at heart. The more Bengalis that perished, the better Pakistan would be in the long run. And that C-130 could watch the skies during the day and get his boys embedded across East Pakistan to sniff out insurgents at night, a perfect match.

Then the general abruptly sat back in his chair and returned the conversation to all the great things that the World Bank could do to help Pakistan. Frank picked up his pencil and jotted, only half listening.

Had the general all but admitted this was a man-made disaster?

Perhaps reading Frank’s lack of focus, the general tried to soften the edges: “But that doesn’t mean that we want it to happen again, of course.”

The interview wrapped up, and Frank packed off to his hotel. He stared at the back of the driver’s seat the entire ride. The system failure wasn’t technical. It was political. West Pakistan didn’t care if Bengalis died.

Forget about Indian perspective. Baloachistan has enough resources to be rich and independent. Bangladesh has been doing economically and in foreign relationships. Isn’t it better for baloachs to be independent and look after themselves. Baloachs are in similar situation they were imprisoned and ignored for many years.
