‘Don’t come’: QLD’s blunt message to India as quarantine demand puts Gabba Test in doubt

Cant believe the chicken nature of some fans here celebrating at the prospect of avoiding Gabba... no wonder we are never great at sports and wont be a GOAT team like WIs and Aus of the past.

Yes Gabba is a hard venue to play in but if you want to be the best test team you will strive to do well in all venues you play and the aim should be self belief to beat the aussies in their Fortress.. thats the mentality top teams have.. not the chicken **** jubilation of a cop out some fans are displaying here. Looking at the bigger picture, if the isolation period is 1.5 days then what is the big deal.. its just freaking 1.5 DAYS. I mean how much eating out and shopping these guys want to do before a match that they feel this an unreasonable request??

If you beat Aussies at the Gabba you'll gain more respect from fans rather than running away with tail behind your back saying' haha hum to sydney me khelenge'. If we dont have the team to win at Gabba maybe we should introspect and prep our test players to that standard rather than running away for an easier option?

Are they objecting to 1.5 days though? I thought the issue was that Queensland is now requiring 14 days because of the increasing number of cases in NSW? I get why 14 days might be difficult. The players have already done that twice.

So what is difference between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane's bubbles. They are not asking Indian players to go out to other hotels except the one they are staying, so what is problem from Indian players???

Some mediocre test players with easy money from IPL and ad revenues because of sheer market size have made them feel entitled and their gullible fans running ga ga behind them.

They are just asking to follow a strict bubble during their stay which is to keep themselves limited to ground and hotel. However that is not favoured by these brats as they feel it is their primary job to go out shopping and flirting with crowd while the representation for national team comes as secondary. This is what happens when you give chances to players in a platter because of their connections rather than abilities.

Come to India, we will show you. India aanedo sale ko, crumbling pitches and warm up games with no spin.

I recall that was the attitude of Dhoni's team  when they got royally spanked abroad. It did not end very well inspite of media trying its best to tune in during that Eng series.

The whole thread is irrelevant now with sources saying it was all noise and India will play in Brisbane. Actually India could have won in Brisbane last time they played. The Shikhar Dhawan injury drama before the start of play in day 3 I guess screwed us. We were in good position if I remember

The games will be played as scheduled. These are just media hype to capture eyeballs and make something out of the series. In the year 2030, they will release a netflix documentary on Ind tour of Aus on how it was close to being cancelled and praise the BCCI and CA to make sure that cricket was the winner at the end :pop2::pepsi:

They are not brats, they are asking to be treated as same as their population. Once they have done the required 14 days quarantine when they arrived, they wanted to be treated same as other population.

They have been in some sort of  bubble for over six months , it would drive anyone crazy.

Nope. QLD expect the team to be z bio bubble from the time they land in Sydney. So they will be in a stricter bubble from say 5th Jan to the end of Gabba test, almost 14-15 days. This is a requirement that has come towards the end of the tour. Players have been in a bubble since mid-end of August and test specialists from mid-Oct. Not willing to go back to a strict bubble at this stage of the tour does not make them brats (their poor behaviour with fans, throwing star tantrums asking for privileges is what makes them brats).

It's a perfectly reasonable demand to put them through covid tests and once tests are -ve, allowing them to be like common Queenslanders. If not possible, play at the same venue like they did during the LOI tour. I wrote this earlier on the thread - we will have a comical situation where crowds in the stand will have the freedom but the performers on the field will have to be in a strict bio bubble!

I hear your points but it's still not a justification for them to not go by the rules that QLD have asked for. Remember the rules will be equally applied for their national team as well. We can have an opinion but to pressurize a state government in a foreign country will have more negative repercussions specially in the backdrop of utter failure of our team management where 5 of our players had open dinner with fans. While BCCI may have some leverage with CA , it does not harm to know that they are a miniscule entity in front of a state administration.

Rules exist for a reason. Indian team must follow the rule of the land. They are not gods from other world. Be good guests.

Are you fricking serious,  understand what they are protesting against first.you are letting general public into Sydney test and asking Indian players to pay the price for it.

2 points people should know

1) The person who spoke is a nobody opposition politician. They were just trying to stir things up

2) Cricket Austrlia has come out and said india has made no such request or refused to tour

Aus media just getting desperate

What if India wins the third test and then says we need relaxed atmosphere in Brisbane or we wouldn't play a test there. That would be more potent to see aussie fans whine. But that is a big if. We still need to win with Rohit Sharma opening. Rohit should just throw usual opening ways out of the window and start playing shots from the get go. Extra cover six off Cummins come on down
