Porel has been very impressive. His pace seems to be up. Moving the ball off the seam both ways and gets good bounce and is pretty accurate. Has a knack for picking wickets. Good prospect. Read somewhere that Bharath Arun has taken a real liking for Porel and he would have probably made his debut if he was still in Australia.

Hopefully, Bharat Arun can work on improving him.

Massive fan of his. He is so damn accurate and gets superb bounce from a length. He is unplayable when on song. He made a mockery of KL Rahul in the Ranji semis last year, made him play and miss lots, until he finally gave up. Top bowler.

I am very interested to see him in England in practice games before test series and see what he does . Don't know why i get this feeling he will be a good fit for ENG series in Mid 2021 assuming there is bit of movement  in the pitch.

The league stage is done & dusted and the quarter finalists has been identified. There is a break of a week before the QF resumes.

Top batting performers so far ( excluding plate group players)

1. N Jagdeeshan, 25 year old - He has taken the competition by storm. I always like him in TNPL but though of him as a Badri or Dravid type player but he has improved his power hitting and strike rate. He is pleasing on the eyes as well. Surely a future prospect for India.

2. Avi Barot, 28 year old - He was no where in the scene but he has made his presence felt. Looks like a x-factor opener. He should get an IPL contract this season.

3. Prabhsimran Singh. 20 year old - We have seen him in IPL 2020 and know what he can do. Looks like he has implemented his IPL experience and improved rapidly.

4. Riyan Parag, 19 year old - Again impressed by him. Looks like a solid Indian prospect. Destined to play for India someday.

5. Virat Singh, 23 year old - A consistent domestic player but didn't game game time in IPL so far. Hope he will get his due.

Honurable mention: D Paddikal and Abishek Sharma - They are well ahead in pecking orders since they are regulars in IPL and did well.

Top bowling performers so far ( excluding plate group players)

1. Avesh Khan, 24 year old - Has he upgarded himself. Pleasantly surprised so far.

2. Ishan Porel, 22 year old-  Top domestic performer and next in line fro India fast bowling resources.

3. Lukeman Meriwala, 29 year old- always in wickets for last 2 years in all formats. Should be next in line for A tours.

4. Rahul Chahar, 21 year old - A proven IPL perforner so expected to be in top 5.

5. Darshan Nalkande, 22 year old - A big hype about this guy. Lets hope he can be consistent and get his chances at A level first.

Honurable Mention: M Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi , Sai Kishor and Sid Kaul

Good list.. what about Azhar.. his knock was very good

The DUD list of Syed Mushtaq 2021 - IPL players who flopped badly this year

I am putting them in three lists

1) Washed up oldies/TTF ( but still get picked up in IPL somehow on past deeds )
Manan Vohra, Piyush Chawla,  Mohit Sharma, Robin Uthapha, Khaleel Ahmed, Rayudu, Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina
All of above flopped in domestic T20. They are old and they have been tried before. Still most of them will come back in IPL 2021 blocking some potential youngster.

2) Uninterested in domestic T20 -These are proven IPL stars but looks uninterested in local tournament and maybe saving their energies for IPL.

Nitish Rana, Y Chahal, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Surya kumar

3) Youngsters who impressed in IPL but looks out of sort in this year syed mushtaq trophy
Rituraj Gaikwad - should have stormed with big runs after last year heroics ion IPL.

Yashavi Jaiswal- After a flopped IPL, here comes another shocker. he looks out of sort.
Sarfaraz Khan- Once a top hype, he has fallen off badly. Can't get a run in domestic T20.
Rahul Tripathi- He may have realized that he will never play fro India but his stocks are falling off rapidly.

The category is Oldies/TTF and Khaleel is tried and tested failure...thats why he is in that list.

How is he TTF? You have certified him a failure at 23. He Was one of the best SRH bowler in 2019 IPL. has 27 wickets in 17 IPL games at 21. Is that TTF for you?

Khaleel has deteriorated pretty fast and couldn't cement his place in Indian team despite getting 25 international games for India ( ODI and T20 ). That is a pretty good sample size and with emergence of Natrajan in white ball format, he may not play for India again.

Also, he lost his place in SRH team as well in IPL 2020 after failing to make any impact. Infact he was preferred first choice for SRH but as tournament progressed, he was dropped midway.

Potential wise, I too was very excited when he burst on to the scene but now after watching him for 25 games for India and in IPL, he generally crumbled in pressure situation. I hope he work harder and come back stronger and prove all his critics wrong.
