straighttalk Posted April 14, 2008 Share Posted April 14, 2008 the kolkata team is wrong... under all circumstances gayle will play if he is available.plus karthik will come in place of abdullah.umar gul can be taken in place of hussey but i ud prefer hussey.in place of gul ranadeb bose will come in. so shukla ganguly ranadeb hussey and karthik can handle the 12 overs while ishant and agarkar will take care of the rest 8. dropping gayle is unthinkable.akash chopra will play in place of pujara perhaps. the 11 will probably be ganguly gayle akash chopra ponting hussey mccullum shukla agarkar karthik ishant ranadeb bose the reason chopra is batting above ponting is that almost all the teams have to have around 10 overs from part timers or indian domestic bowlers..hence the explosive batting of ponting hussey and mccullum can take heavy toll.in the front gayle will be destructive.chopra has to play fast cos its 20-20 or he will get out.ganguly i guess will take 1 or 2 oves to settle and then play his trademark shots .he will either smash anything in sight or get out. Depends on how he's performing in the nets.... which we dont know, so cant decide. If he's just coming back form injury, I wouldnt rush him, but if he's fit, why not.
