Problem is Kuldeep loses confidence if he gets hit in first few overs and then starts bowling short. Against Aus in Dharamsala and Sydney he got early wickets and changed the course of the match.. so its a gamble.. Link to comment

Thing with Kuldeep is he barely bowls long hops or hit me balls which is usual for a leggie. He can be over pitched at times or slower off the pitch to carve him out. Gabba negates his weaknesses to an extent coz of zip & bounce. Let's see though would be a massive gamble but one I think worth taking.. Considering other options we have. Link to comment

Gollum Posted January 14, 2021 Share Posted January 14, 2021 4 bowlers is incredibly risky since load on Ashwin will be too much, he isn't match-fit as per latest reports. And Aussies are capable of sending a couple of our quicks to hospital making it a 1 man bowling unit. Whatever Mayank/Shaw score at #3, Kuldeep will do 80% of that at #8 and he will bowl 25 overs per innings with the capability of changing the course of the match. Link to comment

Maybe with Rahane - a calm, patient, encouraging guy - being the captain, Kuldeep can hold his emotions together better than he would under Kohli. Just a thought ... Link to comment
