  1. 1. Will England suprise us in the upcoming home series?

    • Yes
    • No
    • Depends on the players we have available for selection!

Without Kohli's superhuman efforts that series we'd have lost 4-nil not sure what point you're making?

Whaaat? We dominated them man. Everyone was scoring 100s for fun. Anyway you expect your best batsman to make runs at home against halwa bowling.

Umesh is indeed a beast in India..  Second coming of Marshall here.  Hopefully he's fit.  Last time Poms played Ashwin really well.  It was Jaddu delivering killer blows.  We will blow them away if we have 70% of the attack present

Ashwin didn't do well only in final test, few catches dropped off his bowling esp by Pappu. Tests 2-4 he blew them away, even got a 12fer in Mumbai.

This time our pace bowling will be much stronger.

These Crawley and Sibely guys are gonna do jack. Cricket in Britain is on decline. Bairstow has played 70 tests still averages 34. The main thing to worry about is their long batting line up, everyone can chime in with few runs. Otherwise neither their bowling nor batting are at same level to 2012-13 tour where they defeated us.

I rate Broad and Anderson very highly. Most mature bowlers in world cricket right now proven by their skills in setting up batsmen on any pitch.

Especially Broad, always felt like he would bowl a spell where he would take 5 wickets for 10-14 runs.

Lool look at the lineup that England faced. Look at the bowling in 2011. We had a geriatric team. All the oldies retired right after.

Now englund don't just have to play vs quality spinners. They will face a ruthless bowling machine of an attack. Good luck.

Massacre loading, will make the 2019 RSA series look like a tight contest. Kohli will be super motivated and the gulf between the teams has only widened since 2016 series.

Hope what u are saying turns out to be true.  I m little worried looking at the way Eng are hammering SL currently in SL. (And Eng also whitewashed SL 3-0 in SL in 2018).

I would be surprised if England win even draw one game. Honestly.

Unless we play a complet B team. Maybe then

No way as per reports all the following not playing will be fit.

kohli

rahul

ishant

bhuvi

umesh

bumrah

ashwin

Plus we have the following  8 who will be fit fingers x.

Gill
pujara

mayank

rohit

Shaw

rahane

siraj

Kuldeep

Do u think with the 15 players above we will still struggle? Thats a 15 member squad anyways

Basically 3 miss out Jadeja, Shami and Vihari. Vihari anyways wouldnt have got a  chance. Jadeja might be back in 3rd test. Shami is doubtful but hope Siraj can take his role. Anyways other than pink ball test we wouldn’t play 3 pace bowlers. Bumrah Ishant Siraj will be enough for that test

For me Jadeja,Shami are one of the biggest blows

Shami with his quick reverse swing and the ability to devour an entire lineup would have been so precious to take down the long line up of England

And Jadeja the less said the better,he is irreplaceable in Tests more so in SC

His contribution with the bat at 6,7 and his ability to put unrelenting pressure on batsmen with Ashwin is something hard to replace

England will be very happy to not see them taking field this time around

Ashwin's not 100% atm, at least right now, we have no MVP in Jadeja & possibly Shami as well. You cannot overstate how important the last two are for our chances, especially if a lot of things go Eng way. Realistically speaking, when you're least expecting it surprises or upsets happen then the most. Now I'm not saying the TM would be doing the same but a few missteps, wrong selections, dropped catches & it could all go awry very quickly!

They might be back by 3rd test. Anyway our depth is so good now that we can easily cover these injuries especially at home. Will be good to see Bumrah have a bowl in Indian conditions (he is yet to play a test at home!!!), him, Ishant, Umesh, really potent unit. If Umesh isn't fit I think even playing Nattu in his place can be an option for variety...guys like Fizz/Vaas have great home record and no reason why Nattu can't be groomed for that role, not like Siraj/Saini are the only back-ups.

Jaddu is a miss but it will be an opportunity for Kuldeep/Nadeem to make their mark. Ashwin is 34 and his body keeps breaking down, Jaddu is 32 and his all-format duties will make him more fatigued and possibly injury-prone, about time we start grooming their successors. Hopefully we look at these injuries as an opportunity to get next set of players ready.

We are frighteningly strong at home, so can do with a few new faces and experimentation. Many of our stalwarts are close to mid-30s, so some planning required for transition.

Hope Gill, Pant, Kuldeep, Bumrah play all matches. Yeah Bumrah as well, want to see how he does in India, whether he is as good as Umesh/Shami or not on these pitches.

Im excited to see siraj with SG red ball, i think he ll do really well with it.

Same here. He has been a workhorse nd one man army for his domestic team. A line up of Ishant, Siraj, Umesh, Bumrah in India is as good as it gets.
