Contrary to opinion, imo RCB have done the smart thing here...They are going to go all out for Mitch Starc, maybe 15 cr around and letting go of Morris(10cr) + Udana(5cr) makes sense.

Those two were too expensive looking at the returns, were dropped at the later stages and could be easily bought back for cheaper during the next auctions if they dont manage to land Starc. Moeen Ali and Finch were hardly performing anyway. They've got the money in the bag, now lets see how they use it.

Some of the released players could be good choices at certain venues (7 home games):

  • Maxwell -> RCB (if in form, can make use of the small ground, and bowl too if required)
  • Bhajji -> DC (if still in decent form) but DC has some good spinners; RR as Gopal was not that effective in favorable conditions in the last season
  • Morris -> RR to partner Archer and add lower order hitting
  • Mooen -> KKR and MI as a mini-AR option
  • Roy - CSK to replace someone like Watson

With this change in action, Starc doesn't look the same bowler he was before.

making ur plans around one player is foolish if thats their plan specially with Starc, coz starc often withdraws last minute. U spend all ur money on him and then u have no money to buy other, he withdraws and ur left with left overs to replace him. Build a team rather buying big individuals

Dc already has ashwin , nyways he chucked in previous season he played so if he is getting away with that it will work in many conditions. MI will buy him back i feel

I thought he still bowls the yorker decently. Got Dhawan with a beauty didnt he in the only T20 he played in.

Anyways I presume most teams will go for him, he is a genuine wickettaker in this format. If he doesnt work out they can always dump him going into the big auction next year.

I think Starc will come this year owing to WT20 in India, unless he is injured offcourse.  Also there are other good T20 bowlers they may target like Wood and Jhye Richardson.

Anyways they may easily go back and buy back Morris, surely he will not go for 10crs again with teams having lesser funds and more options being available.

chances are high but still pinning ur hopes on one player is never smart. Yes jhye is one guy who shud be targetted, very good bowler and is doing damn well in BBL as well

All rounders are at a premium.. Teams like Punjab with 50 crs might easily go for someone like Morris
