You play Vijay Shankar in any format he's still going to be a Mental Midget. And what will you play him as ? He's a bits and pieces player who is neither a complete batsman nor a bowler. Keep dreaming about his test cap, which I don't think he ll get or he deserves.

None of these guys will be able to make it to international level or survive for long. It is just a few matches excitement and nothing else.

 

In contrast, one of the players that OP dislikes and doesn't rate, Shreyas Iyer, will go and play 300 international matches( all formats combined) by the time he retires.

3D Shankar has proven this point again and again. A total dud, couldn't grab even a single chance to shine.

Patidar is run of the mill. Dont know how he got selected over others, every domestic team has a batsman like him and many more who are better.
