Only difference is we didn’t hype him up like Asif etc. he was a magician with the ball but just didn’t have a brain in the right place. dont get me wrong at all. i loved the guy. he was so exceptionally talented. I was shocked to find out his average back in 2009-2010. his first class record is horrible. was it the dead pitches? because a guy with his talent should have easily been a sub 25 ish averaging bowler. he was very gifted. had pace, bounce, swing. maniac 1 Link to comment

Mainly because, while he had some ridiculously great spells, he also had just as many ridiculously bad ones. Someone needed to rein him in and show him how to be consistent. Never happened. UP is producing a lot of genuine fast bowlers now. But their handling of young quicks has been rather disappointing Tyagi came in to bowl 2nd change yesterday and got to bowl just 4 overs ... this despite him being a good death bowler. Mavi has been warming the benches both in SMAT and VHT. Played only a couple of games in SMAT. BCCI need to see to it that the India prospect are getting enough domestic games. If the relevant states do not want to play them then a transfer to another state should be considered. Monitoring the fast development process of Team India prospects should be a priority. Before accusing the UP Ranji Team, do you have the concrete information that Mavi isn't injured or that Tyagi wasn't injured after bowling 4 overs? Link to comment
ShoonyaSifar
For SMAT and VH Trophy mixing plate teams with stronger teams tends to skew the performance numbers. Link to comment

My point is about the general trend. We have not been able to convert a single U19 pace prospect to a finished product in the last 6 years. We don't have a single pacer who is less than 26 and is ready to play for India ... this despite some great prospects coming through the ranks. Tyagi was introduced as a 2nd change bowler. That is known. The best way to encourage a young quick is to give him the new ball. Even in the last match Tyagi did not get to complete his quota and he was not injured then. As far as Mavi is concerned, he is in the squad but hardly playing. Has been happening for some time, not just this tournament. Moreover, it is a general trend with many state teams. Prasidh had to sit out for many years from FC cricket. Khaleel did not get to play much FC either. There has to be someone able in charge of looking after the successful transformation of U19 and U23 prospects to Team India players, especially the bowlers. A central coordinator has to be there from.the BCCI. Mosher and Suhaan 2 Link to comment

Yeah Rajasthan and UP seem to have the most depth in fast bowling and opportunities will be hard to come by for the young bowlers. Today Akash Singh has got a game and Khaleel misses out and that too with Chahar rested. These guys need to look out for themselves if they have ambition. Move out to places where there is a dearth in fast bowling options. Link to comment

Nagarkoti, Khaleel, Akash Bengal ... Porel MP ... Avesh UP and Rajasthan are leading in terms of numbers . And they have other established pacers too. The BCCI must look into this aspect. Can't afford to lose Tyagi, Mavi or Akash because of this issue. Avesh and Porel have developed faster because they are regulars in their state teams. Look at the Aussies they are hyping their 19 yo Tanveer Sangha as next coming of Warne.. &, is already in T20 squad for NZ Here Bishnoi who is genuinely world class in toiling in domestics. express bowling 1 Link to comment

As of now Bishnoi is one-two trick pony....he needs to go through few season. He needs to work on his leg break a lot more. As of now Rahul chahar is the guy we shud be looking at Spinners take time to develop. Chahal record speaks for himself. Vijy and SK_IH 2 Link to comment
