Aussies did the same in their home country though. They just competed vs Unfit teams in an era where there were virtually 2 teams that took fitness seriously.

Real test was post 2010 ish.

It is getting comical ...

I am not wrong. India were easily one of the most unfit sides in that period. So we're padosis. Most Asian teams.

You had Australia, maybe staffers. That's it. Kiwis were mediocre.

English were mediocre till about kid 2000.

People have a terrible tendency to Overrate the past due to nostalgic reasons.

I cringe when I look at the fodder bowling attacks Aussies took advantage of in that period.

The one time they faced a half decent attack they drew in Australia. Apart from the old saffer bowling attack there is none that were effective enough on flat pitches of Australia.

Not sure about 10.

Let's assume 10.   So, 10 decent knocks in 10 years is an achievement?

Yes

What number should be condidered decent for a good batsman?

20 good knocks in 4 countries over 10 years?

There will be very few decent batsmen left in world then.

He's neither an ATG nor useless. Good solid batsman however on decline

Plays super innings on song but there isn't much in between

When he started,he used to be more positive, specially v spin and we had hopes of another Dravid

Over the years its changed though.Maybe due to bad knees and role

Mentally strong guy though

Plz update

Sure

1. 193 at SCG - Game drawn

2. 153 at Joberg - Drawn match

3. 132 at Southampton - Lost match

4. 123 at Adelaide - Won match

5. 106 at Melbourne - Won match

6. 77 in 285 balls at Sydney -- saved the game

7. 72 v England at Nottingham - test we won in 2018

8. 71 in 2nd inning of Adelaide in 2018 - test we won, Pujara was top scorer and margin of defeat was 31 runs

9. 56 in 211 balls at Gabba 2021 - probably one of the best wins in Indian cricket

10. 50 at Jober in 2018 -- test we won and it was low scoring game.

Basically he has been major contributor in won/drawn games we had seen in last 10 years in SENA

Same can't be said about any other Indian batsman.

If haif century is decent innings in sena county then rahane has more than 10 decent innings in sena.

I want more innings from him bcz he is our 2nd best batsman in last 8 year

What you want is an ATG batsman else nothing.

Not everything can be ATG. He is great batsman. He will end career with 8-9k runs at avg of 45+. That's a tier below ATG batsmen, but an Indian great nonetheless.

There have been hardly 5-6 ATG batsmen in history of Indian cricket. Pujara is among top 10 Indian batsmen in history.

Lords 2014 20 odd off 100+ balls was decent as well. Made it easier for the lower order to score more runs on a green pitch
