[UPDATED] ICC Test Batting rankings - Rohit Sharma moves to career best 5th spot and overtakes Virat

Recommended Posts

After 13 years of playing cricket Rohit Sharma is finally ranked ahead of his fierce rival Virat Kohli. So glad for him, finally he can say he achieved his lifelong dream, although it might not last long.

Actually, this is the only way he could have gone ahead, wait for Kohli's form to drop and score 40 odds in overseas conditions.

Instead of being within striking distance of Cummins before home season, Ashwin will lose 50+ points by the end of this series Every time you miss a test you lose a certain number of points, even playing and getting 2 wickets in a test is better than not playing when it comes to points. Now Cummins won't be caught, he hasn't missed a test for over 4 years now. Even Hazlewood, Anderson and NZ quicks may jump past Ashwin.

Would have been cool to see an Indian lead the charts in bowling, since it is rare. Only 2 have managed it, Bedi some time in early 70s (peak rating <800) and Ashwin for a great part of 2015-17 (peak rating 904).

Ashwin did well in that period. a pity he can't capitalize now thanks to rat's policies

Lol Rohit Sharma who did not play a single consequential innings in Tests that won us games gets to #5 and you idiots are applauding him.

This is why Stat padding in cricket is so bad, it never gives true credit to match winners like Michael Bevan, Kallis and Lance Klusener etc. who played out of their skin to win countries games.

History is so unfair to the real heros and fake heros like Rohit who is a Stat padding bilateral champ like his buddy Dhawan will be regarded highly in Stat padding books.
