Has Pant already eclipsed Dhoni as a TEST batsman ?

Kohli is a one trick pony. He is a very good front runner but backs to the wall, not so much. His captaincy is no better - comfortable only when the team is nicely ahead, on pins and needles when behind.

How is he front runner, he had led teams from 0-1 down in two series and won both series. He scored twin hundreds in biggest chase, if he had any support his twin hundreds in 2014 would be called greatest knocks. His problem is he never had any support. So stop being a prisioner of the moment. Pant being great does not diminish Kohli's greatness.

Pant is great for wicket keeper batsman, he is not in the same league as Kohli as batsman.

Ranked number 7 in World Test rankings for batsmen :congrats:. Perhaps the first keeper batsman in recent times to be in the top 10 rankings for batsmen.

Imagine the joke of a TM did not find him good enough for the Adelaide test and if not for 36 all out, would have dropped him from the test side

That adelaide test could be the best thing that has happened to us in recent times.

How did I miss this gem.

At the age of 23, despite being the blue eyed boy of the then TM, Kohli the Test batsman was getting bounced out in WI looking totally clueless, Pant the test batsman has been setting new benchmarks for the Indian keeper-batsmen, despite being publicly mocked and criticised by his own TM.

kohli did very little of note in first 10-15 tests. pant has played more match-winning or match-turning knocks that almost any player I can recall from india. I am not talking about stats (because ganguly & azhar had high avgs after 15-20 tests) but impact.

I repeat incase you are slow to understand. Pant is not in the same league as Kohli as batsman. When he does surpass him as batsman we will revisit the issue.

Another example of how cheerleading damages one's ability to thing properly.

At 23, Pant the test batsman is twice more effective than what Kohli was at the same age. And only at 23, Pant, the test batsman has led India's charge in two of our most historic test series wins, something Kohli, the test batsmt will never ever be able to add to in his CV.

ICC ranking of 7, something which took Kohli the age of 26 to achieve.

Plain simple facts. Everything else is a sheer rhetoric

Scoring on fast bouncy tracks against tall fast bowlers - check

Scoring consistently in the 4th innings - check

Coming back strongly after every other ex-cricketer and his dog criticizes him in public - check

This is where he scores brownie points not only over dhoni but many top batsman.

Was Dhoni that at 23?

Dhoni at 23 smashing Pak and SL for fun 148 and 183* :giggle: Let's not talk about LOIs now

Wheras Tests goes he is better than Sachin aswell. Has 2 series win in Aus which sachin never did.

Pant :hatsoff: Respect

its disrespectful to even compare dhoni to pant in tests. at this point pant should be compared to the likes of real elite top tier keeper batsmen like ? lmao only gilly is above pant. pant destroys everyone else.

ATG pant already imo.

change your ATG team now.

everyone.

make sure this name is etched in that list forever.

name is rishab pant.

bro pant is an ATG. everyone needs to put some respect on his name. he is almost as good as gilly. when did gilly ever single handedly win a series in india or other tough asian countries?

Individual don't have series wins, teams do. If  Sundar or pujara had failed, pants knocks would be in vain. Too much for a retarded bot to understand, I know

Dhoni was an ATG ODI player but a very mediocre test batsmen... That Pant is already ahead of him in Tests should come as no surprise

However, I would like Rishabh to exceed his LOI record too.. He certainly has the talent to do that, let's see if he is backed enough
