'Disappointed with tailenders, they couldn't stay for even a brief while' - Washington Sundar's father

Recommended Posts

There is a proper way to say anything.  Is this sundar sr a cricketer who bats better than Ishant ?? Has he faced  an international test bowler in an international test game. He should say " i wish the last two wickets stayed on long enough for sundar to score ethe 4 runs" thats abt it..  he is a typical Indian parent who wants to achieve their dreams through their children and do too much.

This might be entertaining for us but in my eyes he is an irresponsible father. Especially when Washington is trying to cement his place as a permanent member in the team.

Such callous statements against his team members even if it absolutely true could cause rift between them in the long run. How much ever professional Indian team might be there are individuals with inflated egos who could sideline players just because they don't like them.

Yup ... A more diplomatic person would give credit to those who partnered Sundar, helping him score 90 odd runs, which helped his team

Now if Sundar drops a catch on one of these bowlers denying him a 5-er, will the bowler’s family complain about Sundar for denying the bowler the 5-er?

The players would probably laugh it off unless Sundar’s father makes a habit of making such comments

This gives more importance to the partnership between Ashwin and Vihari at Sydney, and also the partnerships between Sundar and Shardul in 1st innings and Pant and Sundar in second innings at Gabba. Given how fragile India's 9, 10 and 11 are, one more wicket at that stage, India would have lost either games and lost the series and lost the chance to play in first WTC final as well.

TBF, Ishant does that very well.

No he doesn't, that relic of the past! He's the worst tailender we've had for at least 5/6 years now!

He needs to quit this attention grabbing . He is embarrasing his son amongst the team members.

First his outburst against his son and now this.

Get your own gig man.

Lol what the hell then he's supposed to say?  If someone ask him how you are feeling about it.   He is not embarrassing anyone.   He is not abusing anyone.  Just stating the facts.

Yea. I am not related to him. I was outraged these bozos couldn't cover the stumps properly with bat.

My father would have said , ....it was in his own hands to get a century , never rely on others what you can do yourself , anyone with half a cricket brain could see what might happen with just one ball , he will learn next time and if he doesn't then he shouldn't be an international cricketer .

That run out thing was completely out of the blue. Axar f**ed up lol If that had happened in the first ball he would have taken his chance against those widish deliveries. It was so unfortunately it happened in the last ball.

He had about 20 opportunities from 92  to outclass Pant and hit two reverse hooks where there were absolutely no fielders lol :--D

Axar run-out happened in last ball, then final two batsmen got cleaned up next over. Sundar never got the chance, and it wasn't like he slowed down towards the end.
