Time to move on from Baggage Bhuvaneshwar?

Recommended Posts

Bhuvi should be shown door to a bowler who might leak more runs but picks up wickets. There is no wicket taking ability in Bhuvi. Only way you slown down other teams is by taking wickets. He takes less than a wicket per match which is disgraceful for an opening bowler who also happens to bowl at death.

Yesterday was classic, there was swing on offer but his line was so wrong that he had no chance of picking up wickets.I am glad this guy has been kicked out of test team.He needs to be kicked out from all formats.Let him play IPL.

In his last 20 matches, 14 wicket@39 but as he is the Captain's Clown's favourite, he comes back to the side immediately after injuries. He stopped being a good T20 bowler back in 2017. Has been terrible since then even in IPL. But the clown refuses to see the reality.

Bhuvi contains runs

But does not pick enough wickets.

He has 42 wickets from 46 T20Is ... not even 1 wicket per match.

These days, picking wickets is the only way to have a high win % in LOIs.

You do need one such economic bowler but problem is with our team composition. England only playing one spinner, we play two. We are only playing on two specialist medium pacers on a bouncy pitch and both lack pace and bounce. I don't like Pandya as our third seamer. They need a good third seamer. They need to give Sundar more responsibility as a batsman. We don't need Iyer. It allows us to play third seamer.

Kishan

Rohit

Rahul

Kohli

Pant

Pandya

Sundar

Shardul/any other seamer

Chahal

BK

Bumrah

We need to find 2 more quick pacers who are apt for white ball cricket and can take wickets too. And preferably tall ones.

Bumrah can't be our only good white ball quick bowler ... he needs rest + injuries can happen.

Let's say during an Important ICC tournament Bumrah has a niggle.  Do we want to depend on 3 trundlers bowling in tandem !!

Moreover, I prefer 2 Quick bowlers plus 1 Swing bowler combo in white ball cricket  ( all 3 quick bowlers in tests unless playing in Eng / NZ )

Wow, So Many people think Bhubaneswar should be kicked out of the T20 side.

As if we have 5 Pat Cummins kind of bowler just waiting out there to replace him.

How the heck is economy not important in a T20. If you do not score enough runs you lose. No matter how many wickets you lose in your innings. 130/2 is a worse T20 total than 170/8. If all bowlers keep it tight the opposition will find it hard to win matches.

Wickets column can be deceiving. It does matter when you are picking those wickets. Cheap wickets at the end when batsmen are going for it wont help the team much. for example 2/38 in 4 overs can look decent for not when a bowler got 2 free wickets in his last over. who are these wicket taking express speed demonic bowlers that are being kept out because Bhubaneswar gets to play.  Bumrah and Shami were both out this series.

To me he bowled very well this series.

As if pat is even as good as Bhuvi in non Aussie Condtions in T20.
