The best part is unlike yesteryears, players who do not get picked  for the national side, still have the motivation to do well in IPL and enhance their value. Also because strong performances in domestic tournaments like SMAT and VHT have meant huge IPL bids for a few players, those are no longer meaningless tournaments with IPL scouts watching. To get the  ready for international cricket, we hsve the NCA and India A setup under Dravid.

 

All in all we have a nice perpetual cycle of producing and nurturing talent. Now, if only we stopped messing up team selections and had better strategic and tactical plans and execution in the big tournaments....

Instead of Dube, pick Vijay Shankar or Dinesh Karthik or any specialist bat.
