That's BS, even 11 Richards would not have won that final against Oz in 2003 & you know how many players have clicked in WC finals? Viv has 2 failures & just 1 good score from a total of 3, Ponting 1 from a best of 4 - scoring in the finals is not a norm SRT already has multiple half tons in crucial QF/SF games so basically one failure in 2011 doesn't count for much! sage 1 Link to comment

putrevus
Winning a worldcup needs some luck. Like 2019 semifinals , who knows how it would have ended if India batted the same evening and not absolving Kohli for his batting failure. He being the best batsman on his team needed to comeup big but he failed miserably. putrevus
Aussies were not real favorites coming in to this world cup. But they took home the trophy. They lost to England and that might have been blessing in disguise for them. Link to comment
zen
CT is a tier 2 ICC tournament so don't care much ... 2021-2021 period at the world cups has been disappointing, a failed decade (have a thread on it) Link to comment
maniac
This one hands down. Lost to Pakistan first game thrown out of the tournament next game Pointless minnow bashing with the same stale combo Follow up series using more or less same TTF approach against a potential B team or a fatigued foregin team to show everything is ok. 2017 was a shock to the system losing to that Pak team and that too in a longer format like Odi but it was a 2nd tier trophy.
