tapandrun Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Fast bowling this season has been disappointing, only Pradish looked good. Nothing else not even a single good pick this season. Retired/semi-retired/ run of the mill fast bowlers who have v.less to zero capability to win or even break a match for the team. Batting has gone next level--specially batting at the top order , but where are fast bowlers ....???? Good to see some new options in spin bowling -- Vipraj and Rathi. Was hopping that some of the fast bowling allrounder will get some chance to play and perform but nothing there too. Shegde was bowling sub 130s kmph, chances were not given to bhawa, Hangergekar, Ramakirshna ghosh tweaker 1

One could say its just 1 bad game but overall its similar to natrajan thing- 1 trick pony with not much pace to be effective longterm and some batter/six-hitter figures there is only 1 kind of ball will be coming and that too at harmless pace then it becomes open-season. He is playing around prime bhumrah, Boult is still v.good for this level and then pandaya is more clear about his game and ability any other bowler joining the camp and playing few matches consistently will have 1-2 good game thats it. Its similar to put in average t20 player in these leagues and give then 10-14 games consistently in top 3 position and surround them with some decent t20 batter, then that batter would have 1-2 good game. The playing 11 of MI is what a TM wants, has all the check-boxes ticked apart from 1 Ind leg-spinner or some mystery spinner rest its the best put team. High content of Ind capped players that too from 1st 11 Top of the line LAF bowler A wkt-keeper who is batting in top#3 The alone fast bowling allrounder (t20is) in the world. Bhumrah In many ways its an over-powered team comparing other. When you compose such team you think of winning the title. One could only add Rashid khan to this. After getting into top 4 they should have thought they are winnings this but a bad day and out standing batting from iyer from the position Pk was. But losing so many matches at the start they could also consider themseleves lucky in many ways. All they need now is to find Arya/Abhishek kind of Ind opener. And one Ind leg-spinner and if can bat that is like gold and if they are really luck some Ind mystery spinner like rathi. Vk1 1
