Avesh bowled his last 2 overs mostly between 137 k to 139 k.

If he had bowled a couple of quicker yorkers at 144 k+ then the batters would have found it more difficult to hit him in front of the wicket.

More than that  Pant asked him to go round the wicket which right now he has not mastered it seems . Lost his control totally , bowled wides  .

Should have just left him to bowl what he does best over the wicket . He would have bowled those yorkers and slower ones .

Captain should know the strong points of a player and not mess with it esp. with a young inexperienced player like Avesh.

What bullshit, if a bowler cannot do something as simple as bowl round the wicket, he doesnt belong at this level. Thats like saying a batsman can only bat on the leg side so bowlers shouldnt bowl on off at him

Watch it again  where Pant asks him to go round and see his bowling from that point on wards . Bowling round the wicket is easy  but bowling with same effectiveness as your strong point may not be . It may need some more time to perfect .

Look at World's best Test bowler Cummins and his effectiveness  against  Right handers and Lefties , there is some dip in that vs Lefties  . We cannot argue that since he is so good against RH batsmen , he should  be equally same against Lefties too. He will work out those to remain potent against both .

Also reason why Avesh this year is bowling yorkers much better is due the adjustment he has done by going little wider over the wicket and his head goes towards off and he hones the yorker to come in. He did not have control on yorker till last IPL and now has  a rhythm with the way he bowls now .This is what Brett Lee & other pacer were pointing it out in their analysis .When he went round the wicket he cannot reproduce the same action  , if he tries that he will  be treading onto Danger area and would be warned . That is what i am pointing out . We may see him working on this aspect of round the wicket bowling and come up better after working out on these areas.

If you notice, his two wides were slower balls. I got the impression that he was trying to bowl those deliveries out of the hitting arc of the batter.

In the games he was being effective at the death with yorkers, he was bowling them much quicker and erring on the side of full tosses on occasions, which is the better thing to do at high pace.

My point was regarding ... extra pace is your biggest friend if your line is good  ... and extra pace is your biggest enemy if your line is poor.

Regarding Avesh's quicker balls yesterday, his line was decent and if he was quicker and erred on the side of full toss, he would have conceded much less runs.

I was pointing out this strategy keeping in mind the days when a pacer won't land the ball perfectly ... and it is bound to happen on occasions.

Hope to see young Indian fast bowlers like Tyagi, Prasidh, Siraj, Avesh, Mavi and Nagarkoti bowl really well.

Is Saini totally out of the picture or has he got something left in him. Guy at his proper fitness level is still our quickest bowler. Had Rahane taken that Labuschagne catch, his Australia exploits wouldn't have looked so poor

Not out of the picture. But Saini has been carrying various injuries for the last 12 months now.

I want him to become fully fit first and then play.

He looked unfit during the SL tour too. Was winching in pain after almost every ball.

In one of the matches he wasn't even given a chance to bowl. That is pretty bad.
