Kiran more already got vaccinated on 3rd march

did he get both his shots? There is a 4-6 week lag before the first and second. Also has there been any planning around this because 1st shot of vaccine doesn’t really count so that lag needs to be accounted for as well.

that is because there is a 4-6 week lag between the 2 shots. First shot doesn’t result in immunity.

These logistics should be kept in mind because of how big this event is considering the circumstances.

People can still get infected post 2nd shot. Vaccination only reduces the severity of the infection.

That doesn’t mean you don’t take precautions and vaccinate everyone in the bubble. That’s the only foolproof way to minimize any issues. Vaccinate everyone with the 2 doses and then have a strict bio bubble. I know it is simple in theory but when you run a billion $ event there are no excuses.

why the hell would they choose maharashtra of all places to start IPL.

No bubble is gonna work with the amount of cases in Mumbai right now.

Just a month most idiots outside were jumping around without masks ,like everything was over.

Idiots who didnt wear mask ,last two months are the main reason we have a mess now .

Seriously how difficult is it to wear a mask ?

Lag isnt the only factor .

lag or not ,no vaccine can keep you from getting infected , especially respiratory diseases have seriously bad record as far as vaccine efficacy goes.

He might not get severely ill ,but that about the best you can hope for.

This is the first time any vaccine has been developed in such a short time, and for that any bit of adequate antibody production  and hence protection would be considered success.

The full power of the vaccines set in only after 14 days of the 2nd dose.

Many people are incorrectly thinking that they are immune after the first shot.

Even after 14 days after the 2nd shot ... people can still get infected although the probability of that will be far lower and the severity of the infection will be greatly reduced.

Even first dose will some amount of immunity, reducing severity.

Simple risk mitigation based on cost. Not sure how this is not planned or may be not executed..
