Manish Pandey has been there in SRH since 2018 (they got him for 11cr)

Not sure how many times he has proved his presence

He will still he sold next auction for a decent price. In fact Rayudu,Jadhav,Mandeep Singh, Vijay Shankar,Uthappa and Saurabh Tiwary will still be bought at a very good price next mega auction. In fact a couple of them might be retained too. There will still be requirement for such international experienced  batsman to add balance to squads. It will at least be a good 4-5 years when we will start seeing them fade out.

Unfortunately for Pandey, today commentators called him out for his slowish strike rate across his IPL career. First time heard commentators criticise him on this.

Probably expect reaction from him next game...let's see.

"Strike rate is overrated" to a journalist

KL Rahul 61(51) on a 220 odd pitch.

If he had 81(51), they would be 220ish. Delhi would still have scored 220 in 18overs. To beat Delhi, you have to get Dhawan out.

One simply does not get Dhawan out.

Dhawan took a little time at the start. He won't have if the target was 220 and this is where they had the chance to get him out and the game would have been completely different while chasing 220 as it went on today.

220 is hindsight, with. solid MO. With PBJS MO and bowling, it is not a par score that one side fits all

Look, when you are 0 loss after 6 overs, you need to assess the game and understand that this is an absolute flat belter and 180-190 won't be enough on these pitches.

KL should have batted aggressively and changed gear after the 6th overs at the very least.

Need to convert the 20(20) to 40(30) to 60(40) and to 81(51). That is where they were 20 runs short.

Fine, do you want them to score 220 on flat pitches every time? Bowling ka to thoda sa compensation hone chahiye? They are getting their bowling combination fixed. They don’t know what is a good score for their bowling to defend on flat pitches.

MI knows how much to make for their bowling to defend

I am not asking them to score 220 if they are 2 down at 45 after 6 overs. In those situation, KL can bat the way he batted today. But when you are 0 loss for 50 after 6 overs, you need to continue attacking and score as many as possible. Yesterday, RCB got to 200+ after being 2 down at 9.

Atleast, if you lose after scoring 220, the batsman are not the one to get the blame.

So why not err on the side of caution and try to score more than par on flat pitches? They know how hard they had to try to defend 220 against RR, there's no reason to think that 190 is decent score for their bowlers.

It doesn’t add up. Let’s say you don’t know what is a good score your bowling can defend. You see a chance to score 220+ Or 190 after the PP. why would you go for 190?
