Couldnt be happier with the postponement. Hopefully l, yheycan plan and prepare better for WTC and England tour.

They will land in England on June 2nd, same time as planned earlier (would have moved from the IPL bubble to WTC bubble). England test series starts from Aug 8th, almost 45 days after the WTC finals. Not sure how IPL postponement helps with planning and preparation.

 

In fact from now till they enter the bubble for England on 25th May, players will be stuck at home. With IPL on, they would have at least continued to play a daily high standard of competitive cricket.

 

Not to forget the nearly 2500 cr financial loss BCCI will suffer (if it can't be completed this year), which can have a disastrous impact on our cricket setup for years.

There's an outbreak in KKR team with two players testing positive but @Ankit_sharma03 did not want IPL to get postponed bc Sakariya did not get 1.3 cr

Perhaps it helps they didn't get burn out or injured.  I don't remember the last time our players had decent rest before an England tour.  The main tour starts 40 odd days after WTC final.  This should be good I think.

That 40 day gap they would have got otherwise as well.

 

Instead of the potential burnout now we will have a case of players not being fully in rhythm after nearly 3 weeks of being locked up inside their homes and another week of hard quarantine from 25th May in India. Not sure if they will be allowed to practice immediately after landing in UK. If they are asked to do another week of quarantine in UK, they would have been in 5 weeks of quarantine and just one week of practice before the WTC finals

Well the players did play few ODI & T20 back in 2018 & we saw how that pan out. 

They stayed in Australia for like a month prior to Tests which is unusual for Indian team due to busy calendar but results were positive.  So I am hoping something similar happens this time. 

Hopefully BCCI will arrange few games after WTC final & for the final One 3-4 day Intra squad game should be enough to prepare.
