Who knows who else in KKR might be infected?

How will any other team playing against them feel safe?  Highly doubt International players in other teams will want to continue playing the IPL..

Countries like Australia have closed borders and almost entirely eradicated Covid.. They will be highly skeptical keeping their players in India after the bubble breach..

No way IPL can continue after this.

$60,000 fine and 5 years jail for anyone coming back to Australia from India.

Only three options..

1. Postpone IPL indefinitely

2. Announce the table topper mid-way through the tournament as the winner

3. Announce the IPL final as one last game that will be played between the top 2 teams on the table and end the tournament after that game

1. possible

2 & 3 are not even options

3 sounds good

..........................................

The shadow of Covid-19 is looming large over IPL 2021 now as reports suggest that three members of the Chennai Super Kings franchise had tested positive after results came in for tests done on Sunday. Chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner - tested positive for Covid-19, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo.

These reports though have been countered by a latest report in news agency PTI which states that all three above mentioned people from the CSK contingent had tested positive on Sunday, but have now tested negative in the report which arrived on Monday. A top BCCI source declared theirs as a case of "false positives", according to PTI.

There is no foolproof system ... No point in speculating much as tomorrow’s game is still on as per the schedule at this point in time ... If so, as BCCI said, this game will be played later ... Let the events unfold

BCCI should cancel the tournament pronto. They are making the same mistake as PCB by allowing the tournament to go on after identification of positive Covid cases. This desperation to continue the tournament is nauseating.

Absolutely. Once there has been a breach of the bubble, its sanctity is gone. Too risky to continue. The honourable thing for BCCI to do will be to accept the failure and postpone the tournament.

My sense is with the industry bodies calling for strict measure to stop further spread of corona, the government will also soon go for a stricter nationwide lockdown soon. Cannot see IPL running when the country will be in a stricter lockdown
