Any of you recall the A team tour to ENG in 2018? I looked it up to see how some of the current incumbents on this tour fared back then.

A few takeaways

Rishabh Pant was his usual reliable self. Played a number of clutch innings down the order in both LA and FC matches

Siraj was comfortably the best quick. Ankit Rajpoot held his own against some strong batting line-ups.

Mayank flopped HARD in FC matches

The big surprise? Prithvi Shaw conquered them all in both LA and FC matches. Faced a near test quality attack against ENG Lions and Windies A. Scored 188 against the Windies at a SR of over 100, and an impressive 60 odd in tough batting conditions (according to George Dobell report) against the Lions.

Cannot help feel that Shastri&Ko shaved atleast 18 months off Pant's test career and they are pretty much doing the same with Shaw.

Selecting NZ bowling lineup wud be also very hard , its actually harder then picking indian attack.

Who do u even drop ?

Obviously Jamieson. He is a home bully so far. Innocuous in England.

But jammu can bat.

Honestly they should drop boult. He has been average for the past 2 years but they won't out of respect.

Jammu wagner southee boult it is.

Henry over only boult imo if they decide to change.

No need for ajaz patel. Although I do believe ajaz will trouble our batsmen mores than any bowler barring souther trundler.

Cannot complain about it. It's a match 'simulation' not a match itself. And better than a match because who wants to waste time having Umesh bowl at KLR given that neither are starting in the playing XI?

You get the best of both worlds in a simulation, a match like experience and proper batting/bowling like in the nets.

The worrying part should be how many times did Rohit, Kohli and Rahane get themselves out.
