That's so true.. Sundar has been with RCB for two years, and Kohli had zero idea of his batting talent... It needed a Rahane (and some desperate lack of back ups situation) to showcase Sundar's batting talent to the world at the Gabba test

he has had Siraj n saini n they have their debuts 2 yr late then they shud have had, n ppl call him fast bowling captain:laugh:

He let KL go from RCB to save money, if he had an eye for talent he wud have spend money to keep someone like KL.

Now I really hope Easwaran somehow gets an opportunity and scores a 100 on debut, the expression on Kohli's face would be worth watching

they'll just pretend that its 4D chess from kohli to ignite his passion or whatever.

Remember how they credited kohli for Pant's Sydney and Gabba knocks because he dropped him from first test

Yes, Kohli is an impatient, loathsome manlet. But don't let his shenanigans cloud your own view of reality. Easwaran is the very definition of a journeyman cricketer. Don't delude yourselves thinking he's going to be pulling up trees.

we dont need a star.. someone who can do a Bangar of 2002 is enough

If this noob charlatan thinks he is average then he must be good. I have seen him play in ranji. He is pretty compact. He handles swing well. He is poor vs bounce. Think you guys will be surprised at how useful he can be in England.

True.

The fact that they picked Eashwaran over Shaw shows the lack of vision, Shaw is the new Sehwag (without the age fudging), so just like how Sehwag performed well away from home when he was still young, Shaw will also do that, just needs some time. Hand eye coordination of this lad is just next level.

Agreed. Average batsman however the point is more about principle here. If he gets picked he plays when it is his turn. As simple as that.

He shouldn’t have been picked in the first place but right now the bigger issue is lack of structure and any method to the madness. Playing Easwaran is a small sacrifice to pay. Not even much of a sacrifice TBH. it’s only fair he gets a shot when it’s his turn and for that atleast 2/3 remaining openers have to be injured. So long shot anyways.

Why? Along with Priyank Panchal, he has been the best opening batsman in FC cricket in recent 2-3 years despite his poor form in the last Ranji season. Do not go by his FC average of 43, he plays his cricket at Eden Gardens, perhaps among the most bowler friendly wickets in the country now. He has a very good Blackfoot game, plays late cut, can handle the short ball decently, plays spin very well - all good traits for a Test opener.

Ideally Panchal should have been picked ahead of him. Hs scored close to 3500 FC runs@50+ in last 4 FC seasons (457 runs@29, 898@60, 542 runs @60,1310 runs@87). But him being 31 would have gone against him and hence selectors went for the next best option in Easwaran.

See, we all want to get rid of Kohlis captaincy but ahe is quite right about this, Prithvi Shaw should play ahead of Eashwaran any day of the week.

Also, the only reason Kohli is demanding Shaw right now is bcoz earlier he thought that with the presence of Sharma, Agarwal, Gill he might not have to give a chance to Eashwaran( who he thinks is mediocre and he might as well be) so now that Gill is injured he wants Shaw asap. Lol. :hysterical:

This guy can't take a straight path, that's for sure.

Sorry , but I have seen Panchal a lot, he plays too many horizontal swats and is pretty much a backfoot player.

Abhimanyu is better but still not good enough.

Doesn't matter. Anyone scoring bucketload of runs in Ranji (in the elite league) and for India A deserves his chances. Cannot discard someone on the presumption that he will be a failure.

how are people writing off Easwaran so early?Hes done well in Ranji and A tours. What is needed? IPL performance?

There is something called the “eye test” and he doesn’t  pass that. This is actually a 100 he scored. Then again Pujara etc are not pleasing to watch either. Good luck to him

He is actually very good. People who don't watch ranji shouldn't comment.

He was brilliant in A tours. He is compact and he is *ing 22 years old. He has a bright future.
