Have to laugh at India 1.3 billion people and even a small country like Australia with 25 million people smashes it on the world stage, forget Australia even NZ does well on the world stage.

Invalid comparison..those countries u mentioned have sporting culture and history alongwith great infrastructure. India doesnt have that..whatever medal these individuals win are totally basedd on their talent, passion and hardwork..with no or little support from State.

What about those African countries then some of those countries are worse than India? They still do well on the world stage, we Indians are too keen on making excuses for everything.

Ind-NZ review

Happy that we beat our bogey side after going 0-1 down so early (them and Malaysians are inferior yet make us suffer, hence bogey)

Sreejesh superb (MOTM), defence was clutch

Rubbish camera footage for referrals, will eventually lead to something controversial in a big game

Liked the fitness on a hot, humid day...maintained good pace throughout

Ball trapping must improve (aerially ok, fine)..maybe rust/nerves

Lost structure in 4th Q

Good job by drag flickers

Wingers unable to penetrate via angles (as in running), won't score too many field goals..can't believe they didn't pick SV Sunil in the squad

Forward line was shockingly bad, inexperience clearly showing, so many counterattacks leading to 2 on 2s, 1 on 1s fizzled out.  What's the use of circle penetrations with such forwards? Already missing Akashdeep Singh, a bit selfish but an opportunistic scorer, also gets crazy deflections.

Those people are natural athletes and they excel in athletics..first compare the sporting infrastructure of these developed countries with India and then compare their athletes with ours..the only disappointment is with the hockey team..else is all a bonus..we are not a sporting country

We make so many excuses, when the truth is we are only good at cricket and even that we can't win a major World Tournament, we are a joke.

Want to compare Ind with some other country, open a thread on chit chat. Nobody cares about all that **** here.

But these are legit excuses..are u not aware of our poor sport infrastructure? Our Govt has to do a lot more in next 10-15 years to achieve atleast 10, 12 medals in olympics regularly. And not just that ..parents need to encourage kids to look at sports beyond cricket. It needs to be encouraged at school, college level.

Insane potential in North East for sports.  I think talent hunts & something like that needs to be organized there.   Results will come in time.

Same goes to places like J&K even if localized resources are spent..  We can unearth some unreal talents in far flung places like these...  Where there is zero sporting infrastructure.
