Tbf stokes does not have a good record vs India in general. Ahswin always gets him out. Almost feel bad for stokes lol. 

 

He actually surprisingly did well in bowling vs india in England. 

 

Our real threats are these chotu motu bit part trundling multi dimensional or so called players like Curran and Robinson.

Everyone in their no. 6-11 can bat. That's our biggest problem.  They'll score 200+ runs every innings and set up their wins

Yeah their first half wil score 150 and second half will score another 150 so thats 350 per innings

Check Stokes' record against India, barring an odd game or two it's chumps like Moen, Woakes who've decimated us constantly in England. With him out it'll hardly make any difference in Eng chances, heck with HH in at the top it's actually much better for England now!

Still his presence is big boost for his team. Also he has got key wickets at time in 2018 series. Had long partnership with buttler. Also just cause he failed in past doesn't mean he would fail with bat this time as well. He is their most impactful cricketer at the moment. Btw woakes, moeen, archer are not available in first 2 test squad as well.

Woakes is key in England.

Then stokes

 

Not the end of the world for England as they have Curran and overton.

 

Robinson can bat too.
