My categorisation of pacers/seamers as per TM's preference:

Tier 1: Bumrah, Shami, Ishant (Tests), Umesh, Bhuvi (LOIs)

Tier 2: Siraj, Shardul, Natarajan, Deepak Chahar (LOIs)

Tier 3: Saini, Prasidh, Avesh

Tier 4: Sakariya, Ishan Porel, Nagerkotti, Kartik Tyagi, Warrier, Nagashwalla, Arshdeep, Simarjeet (selected for a national squad or as net bowlers in recent tours),

Tier 5: Mavi, Harshal Patel, Ankit Rajpoot, Unadkat, Aaron, Khaleel

Tier 6 (hardly known yet but promising talents): Kuldeep Sen, ?

Those in bold can bowl 140+.

Sakariya's selection was purely the punt to create a Nattu like scenario.

Wrote this in the fast bowlers thread. A list of 27 seamers.

Prasidh and Avesh should have been in the SL squad. Bhuvi and Warrier in UK. But it's all hindsight.

are they good enough to take over from Ishant,Bhuvi,Umesh and Shami?

Bumrah and Siraj are obviously going to be carried forward for the next Gen?

In the past it used to be opposite Sreeshanth,Pathan etc looked like the next coming of Wasim,Steyn etc and faded out, these guys are not that erratic and consistently quicker but don’t seem to have the same X factor

They may or may not. But have earned themselves some opportunities. Siraj got one in Aus and grabbed it.

Prasidh and Avesh tick a lot of boxes, Avesh however needs to shed some weight. Time to try them out in the home season post the T20 WC. We wasted Afghanistan and BD tests at home in recent years by picking senior pacers

for starters no need for 'bench' in the title when the main attack is just as hopeless, And on top to make it worse, we're never going to realise how crap bhuvi and saini are and will keep nagging their names for the rest of our lives.

Do i blame anyone? no. When there's fkall talent in our bowling depth and our history indicates Kapil a 30 averaging bowler as our best bowler, then ofc we'll be frustrated and will continue to show our frustration until an actual bowler emerges from this 1B+ population.

Bumrah has been averaging 100+ in odis. And is now showing the same form in tests too recently. Chokes in like all big games.

Ishant is legit shite. people think 2.0 is real until they take out bangladesh and co from his stats in the recent 3 years and then realise he's still averaging his mighty 32.

Shami is ok but no one wants him as the spearhead idky

Siraj is hopeful, cant comment until we see more of him.

And Umesh, by god is a home bully trundler. just go look it up yourself. All you'll see is a bowling version of Rohit.

all these nagarkoti's and Sakariya's are just fodder who are reminiscent of Chetans and Dindas. All we do is upload dumb videos on youtube of indian bowlers copying an international bowlers action (malinga and lee) and compile and sit back waiting for some magic to happen. reality is unfortunately Kapil jee will remain our best bowler as there are no Ambrose's in our sheds waiting to debut

Yes,our attack is even worse infact no one from our so called phaasst jaanbaz fuctree has even picked 200 test wickets, its a shame that we still live a delusion called "phasst bowling fuctree of paxtan"

We resort to tape bowl bowlers Rauf to compete in tests such is the condition of our phasssht bowling stocks

Out of misery we have to play a fixer Amir to make the bowling numbers in tests who bowls at bare minimum speeds just to be termed as a non spinning bowling option

Our younsters were hyoed to the moon just before we boarded our plane to Aus only to be branded as weakest attack to have crossed Australian shores

So  poor bro do not make a failed attempt to belittle our big bros India's cricketing prowess

come back home,soon

Swat Valley is even more dangerous at late night, save your arse all this while

With regards

Hey Abdul-Niazi, but these same shite bowlers won back to back away series in Aus whereas our hulk fast bowlers (with  silky and smooth hair and ultra junooni celebrations) haven't even won a Test in Australia for over 30 years.

Should we press ICC for bottle caps, shoe spikes or Lala Afridi's super white teeth to be made legal objects for ball tampering?

I would say Thakur has this insane ability to pick up wickets from nowhere  and he does bowl 140 clicks in rhythm not sure why he doesn’t get rated.

I think his LOI reputation as a run-leaker precedes him.  He can have overs where he looks like he forgotten bowling ... and people remember such things.

This is the fab 5 of Indian bowling

Ishant

Shami

Umesh

Bumrah

Bhuvi

Bumrah and Shami have been the fab 2 actually. ( Shami not in T20Is )

In a really long career, Ishant has had just a few good years in tests and that too primarily outside Asia.

Umesh has been good only in tests in Asia in the last few years.

Bhuvi has been good in T20Is. In tests he lacked the fitness to play regularly for a decent number of years.

Quote

4/5 are 30 and will soon start being on their way down

Siraj is ready to push one of them out but what are the real back up options?

Can anyone tell me who can be our next fab 5?

1.Siraj

2.Bumrah

3.

4.

5.

will leave the list for the experts @express bowling @Suhaan @Mosher @rkt.india @vishaalvirsingh

Its a little concerning . Saini has faltered, Natarajan is a T20 bowler and Chahar seems like a LoI specialist.

Please he as realistic with expectations as possible.

From now on, our selectors should focus on

1. Bumrah

2. Siraj

3. Shami. (  not in T20Is )

4. Prasidh  (  not in T20Is )

5. Tyagi

6. Shardul as a bowling all-rounder

7. D.Chahar ( for T20s only.)
