Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated CoViD data - this graph, I think, needs its own thread.

I missed the CDC guidelines that said, no mask mandates for “sophisticated vaccinated crowd gatherings “ @Jimmy Cliff , a lot of people avoid Conspiracy threads

"Mostly" vaccinated crowd. Meanwhile the plebs have to wear masks in front of their children at home .

Rochelle Walensky of the CDC has mucked this up in a big way with their claim that transmission from vaccinated people is the same as from unvaccinated people, with no further context.

Context:

(1) Vaccinated people are 8x as unlikely to catch the infection as unvaccinated people (graphs posted multiple times here).

(2) In the unlikely event that a vaccinated person is infected, their viral RNA levels in nasal cavity are INITIALLY the same as unvaccinated people.

(3) Viral RNA levels drop rapidly in vaccinated people (hey, they are vaccinated!!).  So, even if (and this is still an IF) viral RNA = transmissibility, vaccinated people transmit for a much shorter time than unvaccinated.

Bottom line:

In the USA, unvaccinated people are driving the surge in delta infections, hospitalizations and deaths.  90% of all deaths so far in the delta surge were preventable.  The data are as clear as can be.  Even GOP governors are getting the message.

Had a setback last night. Kid is suspected to have been exposed to Covid as her friend tested positive, 3 days back and they informed us last night. Going for a rapid test now. Thinking , all in the family should be tested . All of us have no symptoms .

That friend was vaccinated and tested positive. Hoping it is s a false positive.

Take care.  Yes, better to be tested and stay home.  You will be okay!

It is one thing to be apprehensive, but to totally dismiss the benefits of the Covid vaccines is just willful ignorance and a clear case of putting one's ideology and politics above the welfare of one's neighbors.  It is clearly visible to anyone who wants to open their eyes that, at least in the US, vaccines are working like they should and they are the best tactic we have to get things back on track.

you're only focused on one side of the story. that dude is a pro-vacc guy and there is no harm in peaceful protest. what is harmful is forced vaccination to live a normal life.

Daughter’s result is negative, rapid test results takes 2-3 hrs, even though they claim 15 mins , ours are awaited. Most probably negative. Still isolating. Unnecessary hassle.

Here's a good description (Stolen from twitter):

Vaccinated are the wet logs. Unvaccinated are the dry tinder. As the dry tinder burns, some wet logs get burned too. But a fire with just wet logs won't burn very long

really. is that scientific or some made up bs. what happened to the swiss cheese model

Totally agree @ bolded part.

Aren't these the same people that end up on the hospital death bed wishing they had taken the vaccine? When the penny finally drops, they end up dying of COVID anyway.
