If clown has learnt even an ounce from his last 3 tours to England, he would realize that lower order runs are the KEY in England. It would be just plain stupidity to include 3 no.11s who contribute effectively 0 runs. This itself should just rule out 2 of Bumrah - Shami - 100 test gadha.

So only one of Bumrah, Shami Or Iahant that means lets say we take Shami.

Bhai.. Shardul and Siraj are better proponents of swing bowling than Bumrah. Anyone is better than Ishant who is a certified failure in his last 3 tours to England.

Why not? Siraj and Shardul will not bowl worse than how Bumrah and Ishant bowled in WTC finals

What about the last time when they toured England or Sa or Aus?

In 2018 they broke West Indies quartet's record for wickets in a year and you think Shardul is as good as Bumrah.

I agree with Siraj being top notch but Shardul is not in the same class as Bumrah and Shami and should be used as 4th pacer. He can't replace either of them, we both are disappointed by the results of WTC doesn't mean that we replace our only bowler who has a legit shot at ATG status. Stuff happens.

Ishant bowls an occasional spell here and there but he's bang mediocre. Time for him to retire now that he proved mediocrity can also achieve 100 test matches.

We've seen enough of Bombayrah to conclude that Siraj is a better test bowler than him. Ishant 100 test gadha sharma has already achieved his lifelong dream of 100 tests and time to retire. Thakur is a much better swing bowler and importantly a wicket taker. Also contributes with the bat.

2018 was 3 years ago. Since then count the number of injuries they have had.

 

No disrespect to Bumrah but he hasn't look like taking wickets in all recent matches across formats and is out of rhythm. Shardul  OTOH took 7 wickets in his last test and scored crucial match winning runs. Good enough to be the 3rd seamer behind Siraj and Shami. Plus gives the team the option of playing a swing bowler who can bowl 135+

 

Bumrah can always back later in the series. Some the strategic rest can do wonders to a player's confidence

Maybe yes. We need to play guys who are in good form. That is the advantage of creating a big pool of players. Siraj is in red hot form at the moment and will definitely add zip to the attack. Bumrah looks out of form and needs to be benched for the time being in tests.

Look, Bumrah can very much go onto produce a great bowling performance like Shami did in WTC final  despite all the criticism he faced before it. But on current form, Bumrah, Shami, Ishant as pace attack doesn't pick enough wickets and hence should not play together in the 1st test.
